We have yet to do the dining plan because we're DVC with the DDE, but we did something with our CP package that I think would work out well for many on the dining plan -- we got out dessert to go!

With apps and dinner at Alfredo's we were too full and asked the waiter if we could get dessert to go for later in the evenings. He happily obliged (there were a few options we couldn't get and we left him some extra tip to thank him!) and we enjoyed it about an hour later while watching Illuminations.

I'm thinking when we finally do the dining plan, we'll use our CS credits for late breakfast / early lunch and then have early dinners with dessert to go. Then we can enjoy our desserts along with coffee, milk, soda, tea, water, etc. as our snack in the evening.

The only pain is having to carry the desserts if you're in the park. There were five of us and we just took turns.

Thank you, thats a cool idea, I may try that, often times im always too full for dessert but a couple hours later I have a sweet tooth! :goodvibes

What a great idea - my sweet tooth doesn't pop up after dinner either, but a couple hours later (kids in bed) I see me walking toward a quiet area with my dessert in hand! Now that's vacation!!!

We did this we the deserts at the CS places for lunch. I am not sure how they determined the portions for the food at the CS places but even with splitting meals we often did not have room for desert. Getting the deserts to go made for great snacks back in the room during our mid afternoon break.

We did this too at 50's Prime Time! Because we had ordered pb&j shakes, we got them in to go cups and sat outside watching the parade while sipping our dessert! Our waiter suggested it and it is our new favorite thing to do.

And if you have a refrigerator, those desserts can make great breakfast foods the next morning. Ah, the joy of eating Sticky toffee pudding for breakfast (brought back from R&C the night before).
