Hope you wonderful dis-ers are getting tired of all the ???'s

so...i was looking into planning a DL trip...then I noticed the kids fly free w/ united - so I started looking, then the adults play at kids price and my trip through disney for later was looking like $1500 plus air at an addtl. $1200-1500 - well so out of curiousity, I looked with the deals, to go the 1st week of may through the 1st weekend, it is $2300 total w/ air, chacter breakfast at the fairfield...

it is cheaper to go with these deals? or to book ahead? the adult/kid end in April - flight in may...I am trying to stick with a small budget, but on the same time really excited to go ... ESPECIALLY during a non-peak time of year...

am I jumping the gun on about to book, or not?

Keep the questions coming!!!

I would pay close attention to the park tickets - I am pretty sure that they are not good for too longer after the promo end date - I would hate for you to end up with bad tickets.

I always pre-book my trips well in advance (but I drive, so the flight is not a concern for me). If you are looking to go in the summer (I don't remember), I don't think they run too many deals - but if you find one, read the fine print, and I would book!

I'm not really understanding your post. Are you saying that you can do after April for $1500 plus airfare and you can do end of April for $2300 including airfare? If so I would do the April trip as long as the hotel is the same or comparable for both trips!

The play at kids price atleast one day HAS TO BE used by April 26th, but you have till two weeks after that to use the other days!!

I was looking in sept for 5 night at the CCI, it was like 1600...then I had to get airfare, for 4 which isn't cheap...300ish per person...

If we go in may - we get Kids fly free, and I guess that is it...it was 2300 total through disney w/ flight, tickets and at the fairfield..which they said was good... maybe not as good a deal as i thought huh, I just wanna go!:rotfl2:

that looked different yesterday...ok off to look at my saved reservations...i sooo over think all this!!

The fairfield is not a bad property. We stayed there in Dec. 03. Its about the same walk as the CCI, but it doesnt have the shuttle. It does not include breakfast like the CCI- but it does have a restaurant in the parking lot. When we stayed kids ate free there (maybe just for breakfast?). It does have a McDonalds right next door which is always an option for cheaper meals and snacks. The rooms at the fairfield are larger then at cci, but the grounds are not as nice.

One tip for the kids fly free- go to a site like travelocity and look at the fares. Find the cheapest flight that will work for you. Then, use those flight times in the Disney system to get a price. I've found I get the lowest rates that way. The adult fares on the kids fly free are often higher then they would be for just the adults, but you can still save money. Hope I didnt confuse you to much with that!

I stayed at the Fairfield last week & agree with everything hlbtimes2 says above. Very clean hi-rise Motel.

Cons - Very little "landscaping" (but everything was clean & clipped). No breakfast (of any kind).

Pros - You walk thru (or around) McDonalds to get to park. This came in handy with the kiddo's because: Bfast was cheap & fast for a family of 4 (4-6 bucks - we nibbled & shared). We walked back each day for afternoon break. Picked up some cheap nuggets etc. for 7 y/o to nibble on. (he eats like 6 meals a day). Mickey D's has clean bathrooms.

Other Pros - 2 Queen sized beds AND a fold out single chair (which 7 y/o slept in - like a "bug in a rug" - he like it.) Small fridge. Short walk (for us 10 - 12 minutes to front of DL). A nice "basic" type pool that had towels AND a changing (bathroom) room. (in other words an afternoon break / swim was doable even AFTER we had checked out.)

Have fun.
