Not to rain on everyone's 40% off parade... but....

I've spoken with 7 different CM's and 1 supervisor.

They all told me the same thing. Obviously, I have really bad luck.

This whole thing is making me sick. Is Disney lying to us, are these CM's just plain stupid, or do they just not care?

I don't know - it's silly. I'm pulling for you though - if you end up getting 40% off I will be :cheer2: here at my computer for you.
 
I don't want to be there Thanksgiving or the week of Christmas, but otherwise I told them I was flexible for anytime in Nov or Dec. Every time I've called I've been told the exact same thing. This is a pin code and if you didn't receive a postcard or an Email for it, you don't qualify. I've been asked several times where I got the three letter codes and have told the CM either someone told me about them or I read about them on the internet. They have supposedly checked my profile and say I don't have a pin attached to it, so again can't use the codes I give them. I've also been told that anyone who does try to use one of these codes that doesn't have the pin attached to their profile will not have it honored. If I could just get a CM to book it at 40% off I'd take my chances and be willing to pay rack rate at check in, if I had to. Then again I have an AP and if an AP code was to come out I'd probably go with it instead (even if the discount is less) in order to be on the safe side.

I am happy for everyone that was able to book using the 40% code, but also wonder if with all the rooms that were booked using it, if maybe Disney may decide to not offer AP rates now? One of the CMs I spoke with said that she thought AP rates would be out in mid Feb for my early May trip, but then said she didn't know if Disney would need to offer any AP discounts for the rest of the year with all the other discounts they were offering. I don't believe an AP discount could beat the 40% off deal anyway. I have a feeling there might be alot of very unhappy AP holders come this fall and winter. I know, I for one am debating on renewing my AP or not.

I would suggest not calling CRO with "the code" and contact a Disney TA. Tell them what you are looking for. I think you'll be pleased with the result.

Room only or package? Also, did you ask for 10-16th? I couldn't get the 9th-16th either, but got quote after quote for an arrival on the 10th.

I was told "It is not a general discount code, and any reservation booked with it will be investigated."

Was I being lied to? Probably.
 
Seems to me that the room only code is the one having the biggest issues.

Probably a silly question but have you tried a different resort?
 
I would suggest not calling CRO with "the code" and contact a Disney TA. Tell them what you are looking for. I think you'll be pleased with the result.

BTW...The agent I used was Sandy from Instant Impressions. Very helpful and knowledgable.

My friend who is with Disney called and as we talked,I told her we were going to Orlando in May. She shared something going on that Disney guest services is considering a big deal.She told me that they were receiving an unusually large number of reservations with the pin number associated code. This caused a flag in the system. I asked her what Disney's response is in cases like this. She said:
"Those Disney reservations agents who booked rooms for customers with a code and didn't bother with the pin number when one was required have made a huge Disney policy mistake. The reservations are being reviewed. Those that we catch who have been granted the discount in an ineligible way will have their reservation revert to the regular price per night or the guest will have the option of cancelling their reservations."
 
I got the 40%:confused last night and ask about with a code. The Cm even went further himself to find the correct code to get me the 40% .I ask about a pin # and he said it was not needed with this code it was pretty much for general use.So how can Disney take away a discount that was offered to me by A cast member.....:confused3 :confused3

I'm happy for you, but reading things like this REALLY upsets me.
 
OK, I called to see if I could get WL with the code for December 10-16th and she said the promotion is gone for that hotel. But I did get a discount off of AKL.

Rack for Savannah View, Bunk Beds, 2A 2C, 1 DAY BASE, Dining is $2958.92. With promo it is $2121.92

I was told once again that the package promotion does NOT require a PIN code, anyone can use it.

Boom, your check in date and resort is your problem, not that Disney is being mean.

Sorry, not email confirmation. Online confirmation. It's all listed on the Disney website when I put in my Confirmation # and phone #. Did you check yours that way?

Yes... I have looked...all is there & is fine! Lol, I thought I missed something because I didn't get conf. by email. Still waiting for printed conf. by snail mail.
