We're getting married in WDW when the counter hits zero, and are planning on including a GOH Badge in the welcome bags that we're giving our guests when they check-in at their resort. We already know all about them, and that they don't really give you anything, but we figured this would be a great way for everyone to know each other's names at our rehersal dinner at Trail's End.
We want to include a little paragraph or two on the history of the GOH Badge (how it started, how long they've been around, etc). but can't find anything on the history of them.
Does anyone have something that we might be able to use?
Thanks!

What a cool idea:D My guess is that they realized there was money to be made when guests continually asked the CMs how they could get a name badge like the Disney folks wear. The GOH tags aren't the same, but they are pretty cool.

During the 25th anniversary celebration there was a display showing WDW through the years. You could go up to a booth tell them the year you first came to WDW and you would get a paper Guest of Honor badge that had that year on it.

That same year there were selling the replica's of the castmembers badges and you could have your hometown as part of it. That's when we got ours.

BTW - I love your idea!
