Not the greatest trip :( March 17 2022

who the heck wants to get up at 7am ON VACATION??????? you excuse makers only enable Disney to continue to get away with all this nonsense. It's not the same park, in fact they should rename it as I'm sure Walt would throw them all out on their human ears.
I’m going to second this. Disney has been historically crowded, this is nothing new. The odd thing is that it’s stock is dropping even with this money grab, that was done in part, for the shareholders. I had enough anxiety to wake up at 6a to try get ADRs, and to know I have to do attractions daily now, on vacation?!

Eh I'm up at 4:45 in real life. On weekends I can't sleep past 6-6:30. My body naturally starts waking up around 5:30 am. 7 am is sleeping in for me so the G+ time doesn't bother ME one bit.

I was a huge fan of FP+. I will miss having our rides preplanned!

I would much prefer to wake up early one morning 60 days in advance over waking up early every morning of “vacation”. I was very anxious and generally crabby during our trip last week (app crashed and reinstalled itself at 7am, only half of my party was confirmed for an ILL and then the slots were gone when I tried to refresh, we were offered return times of 5:20pm for rides when logging in at 7am, etc.). I spent a tremendous amount of time speaking with guest services while my family waited. I loved the FP+ system and absolutely despise the new Genie + system. We have been APH and DVC members for years. WDW has always been our “happy place”. We will not return until the system changes. Being glued to my phone and planning while in the park is terrible.

Canadian here. No problem with it working on my phone at all. But switching to data over Wifi for the 7:00 a.m. rush is the way to go for optimal success. But still don't like it versus past methods (for the same reasons as countless others on here)

Our trip overlapped with yours...we were there March 7th through the 18th. On our first park day (March 8th) we purchased Genie+ to try it out and it was quite frustrating...and that was before the larger wave of Spring Break crowds arrived the following week. We refused to buy it again after that and we didn't have park hoppers so we waited in lines quite a bit. The way they let ALL the Genie+ people in each and every time is frustrating...they don't seem to ever really stop a line of Genie+ people to filter in some standby people. We just did our riding in the mornings or evenings most of the time. I found the whole system frustrating to use and I'm an IT person and not afraid of technology at all AND I took some of the tips here to heart ahead of time. I just can't see us using it again.

I’m sorry things were so bad for you, OP. I can’t imagine wasting almost 3.5 hours in lines for rides you didn’t get to experience - let alone the frustration with Genie+.

Sounds awful. Went in February on a school trip and HS had so many ride breakdowns throughout the day. It was so frustrating for my students who had saved and worked so hard to be there. We did not use Genie+. Just went this week for two park days while we are on our spring break and we absolutely hated Genie+. I despise having to be on my phone continually. Parks at capacity so the things we really wanted had really late return times or were not available at all. Hate paying more money for Genie+ and LL. Trying to be fair and give our son Disney experiences like his sister who is seven years older had at his age but I really just do not like Disney anymore. On top of all the money grabs we keep getting disappointed by small decisions too...some favorite menu items gone, increased restaurant prices, decreased quality (a $21 side Caesar salad at Via Napoli!). Glad you found something to enjoy with GE.
