Currently I booked my FPs for Wed September 2nd at MK for iasw (9:35 - 10:35), PP (10:40 - 11:40) and 7DMT (2:35 - 3:35). (iasw was being refurbished BOTH times we went in the past and I REALLY want my kids to see if - although it probably wont' have the same impact at 11 and 15 yrs old!!) I've been checking the park times app and it looks like iasw doesn't have as long of a wait as Under the Sea. Should I change iasw to UtS? And then just go right to iasw as soon as we get to the parks (around 10ish as we are not early risers) and hope the wait is short since hopefully most kids will be back to school.

Once we use our last FP I'd like to get a FP for Illuminations as we plan to leave MK after the 3pm parade, go back to ALK to swim and shower and head to EPCOT for dinner. Can I get that 4th FP at MK (even though it is for EPCOT) or do I do it on my phone? Or do I have to wait until we get to EPCOT?

Thanks!

I know you are not early risers we are not either usually (my teens will sleep til noon at home) but I would strongly encourage you to try it at Disney you would be amazed at how much you can do the first hour (you could do all the rides you mentioned except SDMT and maybe more w/o FP if you arrive at RD). That said however, I think you'd be fine going to IASW as soon as you arrive and get a FP for UtS though I wouldn't arrive much past 10 if your FP+ window ends at 10:35.

As far as I know, you cannot book FP+ for EP at MK you'd have to do it at a kiosk in EP though not sure there would be many (if any ) Illuminations FP left.

1.) No, you cannot get 4th FP+ at MK for a different Park. You must be at the specific Park (Epcot in your case) and use a kiosk to obtain that 4th FP+.

2.) According to easywdw, Sept 2 is low crowd day and anticipated maximum wait time for Small World is 20-25 minutes at 1pm. If you really are not morning people, I'd change the Small World FP+ to follow PP - you'll be right there. Why waste time?

http://www.easywdw.com/cheatsheets/mk_cheatsheet_v3.pdf

But my real suggestion is to ride Small World at 10am (+/-) without FP+ and select something else for using your FP+ at 12pm when lines are longest.

IASW never has too long of a wait I think, you don't really need to FP it. I'd also recommend FPing UtS instead

Neither IASW nor Under the Sea is a good use of a FP in the morning. Under the Sea is never a good use, IMO. If the wait is posted at 20 minutes or under, it's a walk-on. If it's 30 or below, you'll have to pause briefly before boarding. 45 or below, you're talking less than 10 minutes.

You can't make a FP+ for Illuminations in a park other than Epcot, and you can't get a 4th on your phone, but your resort concierge can make it for you once you go back for your break. I'm not sure how late-day availability is for Illuminations. I don't think it's a very popular initial FP, but with so few options at Epcot, people might book it just to book it. I did just look for today, and all Illuminations FPs are gone already.

It really depends on what you want to ride. If that's all you're interested in, then better to use them than not but they are not attractions that require a fp+ to avoid really long lines in my experience. Even at 10am, those lines should be very short.

Space, Splash, BTMRR, Pirates, Jungle Cruise- any of those are much better choices....but only if you want to ride them.

You really don't need a fp+ for Illuminations. I doubt it would be available by the time you arrive at the park that evening anyway. Someone else with experience in getting that fp+ would know better than me as we've never gotten one for Illuminations.

9/2 is projected to be a very low crowd day at MK. I wouldn't expect the wait to be more than 10-15 minutes, max, for IASW. I'd use that FP+ for another higher-demand attraction, but YMMV.

Pirates and Jungle Cruise will be closed. I have FPs for the others (Space, Splash and Big Thunder) on the other days we are going to MK. I think maybe I'll switch to Haunted Mansion which is pretty close to iasw and PP. Hopefully we can walk on both iasw and UtS.

edited to add changes:
Haunted Mansion 9:30am - 10:30am
Peter Pan 10:40am - 11:40am
7DMT 2:35pm - 3:35pm
Hoping to fit iasw in b4 PP. Then hit UtS, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Pooh and Philharmagic b4 7DMT. Those are the only Fantasyland rides my kids are interested in.

I didn't think about you visiting the MK multiple times. During our trip, we did much like you're talking about- multiple trips to the parks and not staying all day. We loved SDMT on a previous trip so we always had that as a fp+ selection every time we were there. But if you're not interested in re-rides, then that doesn't work for you.

IASW is not always a walk on. We saw waits of 20 minutes or so late in the afternoons several times when we passed by. So no guarantee they'll be walk ons, but earlier in the day I'd take my chances just because we had other things we wanted to re-ride every trip in that really needed fp+. We were there at park opening riding those secondary rides and had no waits at all. I think before 11, chances are really good that you'll see very short wait times.

There will not be more than a 10 minute wait for either ride on Sept 2nd at 10 am. They may we'll be total walk ons - even if the posted wait says 10 minutes.

Pirates and Jungle Cruise will be closed.

I'm there in the same week as you are, may I ask where did you read that Jungle Cruise will be closed on this date? I googled a few WDW sites, but Jungle Cruise is on none of the refurbishment lists.

If you are looking for Fantasyland uses, we felt it was worth it for ETWB - definitely didn't need ours for UTS, we changed it and IASW = never IMO

You are right = I don't see it either! Well, that's good news, lol! But Jungle Cruise is something we wanna do at night instead of during the day so I'm hoping to do it during Wishes or the parade!
