Hi Everyone!

Looks like a great community you have here, i've been lurking while planning our 2nd Disney trip.

I just booked at the contemporary (or so i thought...) for the week of Sept 15-22nd. It will be myself, DH, and our four kids (7, 5, 2, 7months) which cut down the choices of resorts alot. Anyways when i got my confirmation it confused me a bit...it says...

Disney Resort Hotel Room Type: Tower - Bay Lake View

So...now after reading a bit i think i may have gotten a one bedroom? complete with laundry and a separate bedroom since the only other option in bay lake tower is only for four? Can anyone help me understand if that is what i am getting or no? i just don't want to spend another half hour on hold with disney to find out! thanks! and...if i am staying in bay lake tower do we get to use some deck thing to watch the fire works from?

No, you are not in Bay Lake Towers, which is a DVC resort.

You are at the Contemporary Resort, in the tower (as opposed to a Garden Wing). Your room faces Bay Lake (as opposed to facing the Magic Kingdon).

It doesn't say Deluxe Villas, or one bedroom, so I think you have a room in the tower of the Contemporary with a Bay Lake view.

I believe you have a regular room in the tower of CR (as opposed to the garden wing) with a view of the lake (as opposed to say, a magic Kingdom view).

If you had been booked at BLT they would have called it a villa, not a resort.

Based on the information you posted your reservation is for the Contemporary in one of their Tower - Bay Lake View rooms. So that means you will be an elevator ride away from their stores, restaurants and are not staying at Bay Lake Tower.

It sounds to me like you booked a room in the Contemporary Resort's tower, with a Bay Lake view. That would be a standard hotel room with two queen beds and a day bed, which sleeps 5 persons plus one child under the age of three. Sorry, no laundry or separate bedroom.

There are two separate properties located in that area. The Contemporary resort, is a deluxe resort and consists of an A-frame tower and a garden wing. Right next door is the Bay Lake Tower, which is a deluxe villa resort, part of the Disney Vacation Club.

Somewhere on your confirmation, it will state the name of the resort. It will either be:

Disney's Contemporary Resort

or

Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

If your reservation is as your wrote it...it looks like you are in the Contemporary Hotel, Tower Rooms (not the garden rooms) with a view of Bay Lake. This is different from a 1 bedroom Villa at Bay Lake Tower.

The Contemporary hotel does allow for 5 guest in a room (plus an infant). The rooms (most) are 2 Queen beds and 1 pull out sofa bed/daybed.

Awww thank you very much for your fast replies. Now i know not to get my hopes up for what sounds like some nice extra perks of the one bedrooms and such.

Goodbye dream of laundry and a door between me and my kids =)

Those are two of the main reasons we bought DVC - clean clothes all the time, and my kids sleeping in another room. It is a great perk of DVC!
