Not sure if this is the right board, but I have to ask anyhow..

come on people, if someone had told you about a SPECIAL BAG that you can carry all over DTD and pay at the end of the day, would you believe them? I mean look at DTD its miles long with streets and parking lots ...yes its all disney property but come on they are all different stores, with different inventory. That is the part that is fishy....SPECIAL BAG :lmao:

There it is. It's still there, it's just locked.

It seems that afer witnessing the exact events last fall, they tried to duplicate the act in December and were horribly shocked and disappointed when they were caught, arrested, and banned from property for life.

OOOhhh. I stopped following the thread, and didn't see that later stuff. I don't know. It sounds fishy, but I don't care one way or the other. The truth will come out eventually. For their sake, I hope this wasn't a big scheme.

Many of us did not by it and he got made. At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt (community) but by the second thread (g/l) I told him he was full of it and so did many others.

My 10 year old might buy this, but definitely not a member of the NYPD.

On March 12th he was planning a 14 day vacation later this year. Hummmmm......

Okay.. Now I'm really confused.. Either this "has" been done, "hasn't" been done, "can" be done, or "can't" be done..

As for the OP of that other thread, how is he planning another trip if he was "banned for life"? :confused3

Have to admit that I'm suspicious of that whole incident now.. :sad2:

After reading some of those other threads, he asks for a lot of them to be closed.... When he started them. It's immature. Every single post in the "no camera" one has been edited to "PLEASE CLOSE THREAD NOT WORTH THE HARASSMENT".

Awwww....

I'm going home. (stomp, stomp, stomp...) :rotfl:

WOW!

Did any of that hurt the girls' reputations? Or did it enhance them?

as far as i can recall-they were banned from anymore school sponsored trips i addition to some school punishments (and whatever their parents dished out), and disney security sent a report to the local d.a. for informational purposes (saying they opted not to prosecute due to the distance between so cal and where we lived).

i think the best punishment was that they were made for the 12 or so hours left in the "disneyland time" (they did the shoplifting right after arriving at the park in the very early a.m.) to clean the interiors of the 3 busses from top to bottem. and apparantly beyond the normal kid grunge that an overnight bus trip incurs-there had been some undetected alcohol consumption (that they were found to have participated in) that resulted in the bus bathrooms being hideous (so much so that in addition to the cleaning the girls did-the bus company had to arrange for some plumbing work prior to the return trip home). apparantly the "cleaning crew" aquired such a stench that they were restricted to a back portion of the bus with adjoining windows wide open, and for weeks afterwards everyone made comments about how many showers it must have taken to rid themselves of the smell.

There is much much more to be suspicious about, such as the poster claiming on various threads to be a cop, a psychologist and a CM at a Disney Store. On another thread, his SO was a cop, arrested for shoplifting $68 of Disney merchandise, hauled to jail and forgotten to 2 days, then finally discovered and released. The duo is planning or actually suing Disney for false arrest even though previously on a DIS thread they talked about this very incident happening: getting falsely arrested for shoplifting and then getting all kinds of freebies from Disney after suing. The poster was talking about getting "free passes for life." And this barely scratches the surface.

The poster has continued (at least through this morning) a dialogue with me via PMs. What was interesting was his editing of previous posts and threads that were linked to in the above linked threads. Seems like he went to a lot of trouble to cover his tracks now, but of course that was based on advice from his lawyer. :rolleyes2

If you believe his story, I have some oceanfront property in Kansas for sale -- CHEAP!

I'm sure that there is some sort of banning that goes on (probably more as a scare tactic than an actual enforceable action.) In that particular case I don't buy the "we did absolutely nothing wrong and were as polite as could be to everyone and they targeted us and ruined our lives (yet we want to go back)" story.

To be honest, I think my 4 year old tells better tales!

Given the information that's been shared, this "ban" (if real) is bluff 101. There's absolutely no way Disney can guarantee enforcement. Even if they have the finger scans of the suppposed banned people in a database tied directly into security at every gate, the "banned' could change the shape of their fingers in three minutes with some rubber cement. Add to that the fact they can buy tickets for cash without without giving their names or providing any I.D., and Disney has no way of knowing whether these people are on their property or in their parks.

I think you are wrong. Not that they would do much to seak you out, but if they found you on property, they would definetly have you arrested for trespassing. That would be an ugly turn of events if you tempted fate.

Well when I initially read that thread I went into it with a very open mind.. As it went on and on, things became a little fuzzier, but I just hated to think he was flat out lying, because what would be the point? Then came the references to the comment about "lifetime passes" and I got a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.. :(

However - when he mentioned this piece of paper he received from Disney banning him for life, didn't someone else come along and verify that it was indeed the type of notice Disney presents to offenders - right down to the color of the paper? :confused3

So I guess the answer to my question is that it "can" be done, but we still don't know under what specific circumstances and how it would be enforced - correct?

However, banned for life from all of Disney for $68 of Disney trinkets? Maybe banned from DTD for a year -- that I might swallow. And even then I doubt Disney would invest much, if any, effort in monitoring the ban.

I agree.

I asked the poster to email me a copy of this alleged trespass order, suggesting that he make a photocopy and block out any personal info. I was simply interested in seeing what would be produced -- an actual order or a MS Word creation. Also, I raised the question of where the order came from -- one time it was said to come from Disney and was pink then another time it was from the sheriff's office and was orange. Like with so much else in this saga, big and little details keep evolving with every post and/or PM. Things that make you go hmmm... :scratchin

That's exactly why I asked the question.. Banned for life for $68 seems pretty harsh to me.. Definitely something more to that particular situation.. :sad2:

As for whether Disney can ban someone -- certainly they can do this. Any business or even person who owns property can do this, but you have to have a valid reason. I just can't say C.Ann you're banned from my house for no reason. (Of course, I'd never say that -- you're welcome anytime!! :teeth: )

Disney might do this (this is JUST MY SPECULATION) for shoplifting, fighting, entering the park without valid admission, attacking a CM, creating a hazard on a ride... I would imagine it would have to be something really serious that would rise above a CM scolding you and telling you to behave.

Like I said, I could imagine a Disney store banning someone for say a year if they were caught shoplifting. Maybe if the amount stolen rose to the level of a felony, they might ban for life. I suppose it would depend on the infraction and how much danger the person put a CM and/or other guest(s) in by their actions.

That's sad.. :( The other part that really threw me was that his SO lost his job here in NY over something so minor in FL.. There have been police officers, sheriffs, State Police, town police, etc.; who have been accused of much, MUCH worse here in NY and normally they are simply suspended until the issue is resolved.. :confused3
