Update on fridge: spoke to luggage services and the Not so Scary fridge box is not in there. I hope it shows up soon!

Keep looking for the fridge! Odds are that it IS in luggage services, just buried behind other boxes, turned so they can't see the label, etc. You must be VERY persistent that they keep looking or offer to go back yourself to look. It also helps to bring a picture so they know exactly what they're looking for.

Seriously, don't let them go in back for 30 seconds and come out to say they can't find it. I learned this when I used the fridge and in running the Pay It Forward box at Pop. You can tell them to look for it under your name, the name of the last person to use it or even just tell them it's the Not So Scary fridge.

Just checked one last time. No fridge. Sorry, Pooh's Honey-Pot. I hope it shows up. I showed them the photo each time. If you haven't left yet, then maybe you can bring the photo. Bring warm clothes too. It's been very cold!

Thanks for looking for the fridge deann. I'm sure hoping the fridge shows up. Pooh's-Honey Pot is going to use the my other swap fridge while she is there because its available. They should be on their flight to disney right about now from England. I hope they have safe travels

Seriously, I know this is a very generous offer but we have to be realistic here and retire this idea once and for all.

Frankly, it would be the donor's decision, would it not? As long as the donor goes into it with eyes open and knows there is a possibility it will go missing....and swappers also always keep in mind that this happens, then why should the idea be retired? everyone involved accepts the risks and understands that it happens. Does it suck? Yes - but we all know of the possibility beforehand.

I was a part of this swap and it happened just before my vacation. Yeah it sucked...but I knew it was always a possibility. For all involved, the more courteous we are about use of the fridge, the more likely a fridge will hang around. Taking a fridge down to luggage services instead of leaving it in your room...or better yet, a face to face hand off...these are things that help the swap as a whole.

I am so grateful for donors and the folks that keep swaps going. It's not easy and those of us who do get to benefit from it should really appreciate it. And those who would never use it...well, it's not something that should bother you, should it?
