My MIL has had Myaloma (bone cancer) for nearly three years but the last couple of weeks she's really been struggling. She was rushed in to hospital Wednesday this week with renal failure - but the hospital have managed to get the old kidneys working at less than 25% so she's still hanging in there. The prognosis is not good by any means, but she should still be here at Xmas, which wasn't anticipated when she was initially taken in Wednesday
If she behaves herself the next few days she's being allowed out to come and spend Xmas Eve through Boxing Day with us, then straight back into Hospital on the 27th. I'm so glad she'll be able to come over to us - Darryl's family is rather large (and noisy) so we'll be quiet. (I have warned her Katie is getting a Karaoke machine
)
My father died of cancer at Xmas five years ago this year and it's such a bad time anyway for me, but this year I'm trying so hard to be happy and excited for DD Katie (9), but it's darned hard.
We hope you all have a great Christmas with lots of wonderful presents
