Put in a "backup" offer at full price (even a couple $ more per point if you really want it). Not every deal goes thru and you'll know in less than 10 days lol.Oh bugger as iv not been checking DVC for less as been busy I missed a contract that would have been perfect for me.
I swear im not destined for DVC

This happened to me just a few months ago. I was looking for the 'perfect' small VGF contract. Looked away for a couple days, and there came and went the 'One'Oh bugger as iv not been checking DVC for less as been busy I missed a contract that would have been perfect for me.

Perhaps put a value of how much your time and stress are worth and add that to your ppp offer…Oh bugger as iv not been checking DVC for less as been busy I missed a contract that would have been perfect for me.

I remember responding to this thread. Now I also did a thing lolI just did a thing... Not a great idea, but I just couldn't resist, & I'll actually be surprised if accepted, but if not I will be better off for it.
Good morning! Nice view! 10 more days for me (to RIV).Good Morning, DISBoards!
Nice! Yeah, this Boardwalk View vibe is pretty fantastic…. Crescent Lake in general…. who wouldn’t want to come back here at least once every 3 years…..Good morning! Nice view! 10 more days for me (to RIV).
I hear ya. I rotate between VGF and BCV in the fall. Sitting out there on a bench with a cup of coffee or ice cream... heavenly!Nice! Yeah, this Boardwalk View vibe is pretty fantastic…. Crescent Lake in general…. who wouldn’t want to come back here at least once every 3 years…..

We are not the conventional WDW goers, as we go about every other year but we still have 2 home resorts. The reason behind that, we have BRV which we love but it expries in 2042 and I felt like we should own another home resort that has a much later exp date, and that's when BLT came in. My plan is, as we get closer to 2042 and if we still want to continue to own BLT, we will continue to add on so there wouldn't be a gap once BRV expires. That way, we wouldn't have to shell out a big chunk of money for a big contract. We can add on as we see fits or sell them if we decide DVC is no longer for us, then the smaller contracts will be easier to sell as well.Random thought…I see a lot of folks with many home resorts. Which is awesome. But I wonder how many DVC visits they usually take per year, or are they always split staying?
Thinking of my own experience, where we don’t want to split stay, I think the right maximum number of resorts for us is either n or n + 1, where n is our number of DVC-based trips per year. You certainly can make n + 2 work with banking and borrowing, but it becomes messier potentially, and riskier (ie you may be more likely to lose points).
How do others think of this as a model for owning at multiple locations?
Edited for clarity.

Sounds like a good model. We own at 7 resorts and visit 2-3 times per year. We do also split stay though as we tend to stay for 7 nights minimum. It would be difficult if we didn’t split sometimes, as we only own a small number of points at BWV. The other contracts can all stand on their own (min of 160 points at one resort)Random thought…I see a lot of folks with many home resorts. Which is awesome. Because of the value/resort view studios at BWV.Ugh. Why are there a plenty of reasonable deals on BCV and none on BWV….
Good stay then?Ugh. Why are there a plenty of reasonable deals on BCV and none on BWV….
Because of the pool refurb at BCV? I remember there were some good BWV deals a month agoUgh. Why are there a plenty of reasonable deals on BCV and none on BWV….
Because the three lowest overall point charts for studios (at WDW) are: Animal Kingdom Value, and then Boardwalk and Old Key West. Depends on the season as to which is cheaper--BWV or OKW. But I'm pretty sure those are 1, 2, and 3--with the exception of SSR having slightly lower points compared to BWV during a couple travel periods. But of those, the only one which has walking access to parks is Boardwalk. I'm pretty sure a lot of commercial renters have loaded up on BWV for that reason. Low points--and they can easily charge well over $20/point for confirmed reservations. And I have no problem with people occasionally renting, but also, yes, I wish DVD would crack down on those with thousands of points who use them almost exclusively for renting.Good stay then?
