Not ready yet???!!! A February trip report! Update 10/25 Day 9

I love walking through WS when the countries are not open. One of my favorite things EVER was entering through the International Gateway when it was empty. :goodvibes

Karin, I ADORE that photo you have of the monorail on the right. It could be a Disney promo pic! You captured it beautifully.

STITCH!!!!!!!! I had no idea they had Stitch topiary up! So cute.

Awww, I guess no one's allowed to have ice cream for breakfast.

Oh my gosh, Soarin lines. Well, it's to be expected.

Haha, 19% Austrian. I think I'll pay more attention to those cars next time. I usually take a pic with the coolest looking, and then jump back on the single riders line.

What amazing pictures Karin....they are all so beautiful.....another beautiful thing is an empty WS...I love when it's early and no one's around...it's so peaceful!!

I test drove a Chevy Cruze...very nice car:thumbsup2

Your Flower and Garden pictures are so beautiful.

We never noticed the Stitch topiary. Caitlin would have loved it since she really likes Stitch. I haven't seen any other pictures of him so you must be one of the few who actually noticed him. :thumbsup2

HI karin. I love your pic of the resort through the rain It's good of you to "take care" of the Krispy cream that way. :rotfl2: I know some people think TT is a sleeper but I love it! I love to be in the car with a child in the driver's seat and try to convince him he will really be driving!:goodvibes

Yay for the Stitch topiary :teeth: One day we must go to F&GF it looks so beautiful and Epcot is just the perfect park to showcase it :)

We are having second thoughts about WAT now as I spoke to Photopass and they are not including other park photos as well as the trek ones in one CD/voucher, which means we gotta add another $99.95 to our list of extras (which is huge enough as it is). I really want to do the trek but considering what else we are doing I don't know if maybe it would be better to do on another trip.

Have loved your review though, really delightful and informative and it does look totally worth it as you have some fantastic photos of the wildlife :)

I can't believe that in only 8 weeks from today we will be on a plane to Orlando!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :goodvibes

Love this picture! It's so cool. All your pix are good, but this is my favorite! What a fun morning in Epcot so far. I also love the YC/BC so a quick stop there sounds like a marvelous idea.

The photo is awesome, isn't it? I woke up that morning and peeked out the window to see what the weather was like and this is what we saw. Had to sneak out and take a few photos and this one came out the best! :thumbsup2

We love the Boardwalk, YC and BC area. So much to see and we just love to stroll around there, always worth a visit! :goodvibes

Thanks for the pictures of the Beach Club! I'm so excited! :woohoo: Can you tell?

Your Flower and Garden shots are beautiful. One of the neat things about going when we do in February is that they're already getting those topiaries up, so we get a sneak peek!

Funny that the car's engine was made in Germany...cool! :thumbsup2

Sure you should be excited ........ not much longer and you are going to stay at the Beach Club! :cool1:

They didn't have that many topiaries out the year before, but since F&G actually started about 3 days after we left, it was a wonderful treat to see so many topiaries - we have a gazillion more photos, which I hope I am able to post a few of, tomorrow.
My computer was acting up and I could not do any posting on the DIS. :scared1: But Tom, the "in house" computer expert got it working again and I can start updating again! :woohoo:

Oh, and BTW, Tina, the engine of that car was not made in Germany ......

it was made in

AUSTRIA!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Um, don't all Krispy Kreme's always "need" to be eaten? :rotfl:

Too bad Beaches and Cream wasn't open yet. Love that place!

Yes, they need to be eaten ........ they scream "eat me, eat me" all day and night! :rotfl2:

We got to Beaches and Cream later in the trip, so I did not miss out on a treat! :thumbsup2

I love walking through WS when the countries are not open. One of my favorite things EVER was entering through the International Gateway when it was empty. :goodvibes

We love an empty WS too! Lots of wonderful photo opportunities! :woohoo: Lots of time to stop and smell the roses! :thumbsup2

How dare they not open beaches and creams early. LOL!

Yes, that's exactly what I thought - how dare they not open up early just for ME!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Karin, I ADORE that photo you have of the monorail on the right. It could be a Disney promo pic! You captured it beautifully.

Thanks for your kind words about our photos! Sometimes those magical shots "just happen"! :thumbsup2

Stitch was the first topiary we came across and I really loved him - he looked so cute!

The fun fact about the 19% of parts being made in Austria was, that Tom pointed this out to me right before we entered, and voila, there it was on the little note! It was just one of those fun little coincidences.

Thank you!
An empty WS is just the best! :thumbsup2

Since Tom needed a new car, the Chevy Cruze was on his list of cars. So when they had one on display, he had to do a thorough inspection!

Thank you!
Since we were early for F&G we were soooooooo happy with all the topiaries which were already up.

Stitch was right outside Mission Space. He looked so cute there! So sorry you missed him!

It really looked so pretty and peaceful in the early morning hours. You would never expect the hustle and bustle of the resort during the midday hours! ;)

Test Track is not a ride I would queue for for an hour or more, but if the single rider line is short, or the regular line under half an hour we will ride it. I love the outside loop!

I love:love:the Topiarys and that Stitch is awesome !!

Lots more topiaries to come, Rosie! Once we found the first few, we were on a hunt! :lmao:

You NEED TO go see F&G once, Stefy! We were so lucky, as we went just before it officially started. They had most of the topiaries already up and it looked prettier by the day!

Great Epcot pictures, Karin.

But I really love the one at CSR! :thumbsup2

Thank you, Kathy! I wonder why you love CSR photos best? :rotfl2:

Great update! :thumbsup2

I love the Yacht and Beach Club soo much. They are always so peaceful, yet so convenient to everything!

Flower and Garden looks lovely! I've never seen it in person before! That Stitch topiary is great! :)

By the way Karin, I passed by a Krispy Kreme the other day while I was in Ohio for my cousin's baby shower, but unfortunately we were in a hurry so there wasn't time to stop. :( I thought of you and Tom, though!

Yay for 8 weeks!!!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Thank you!
Only 52 more days! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thank you!

You definitely should try to get there for Flower and Garden. We visited shortly before it officially opened and they had most of the topiaries up and it just so much fun to walk through World Showcase and find more and more green characters!

How nice of you to think of us while passing Krispy Kreme! :rotfl2:

Day 5, February 23

A peek at the Flower and Garden Festival with a visit to „The Ditch“ and some caramel - Part 2

After spending quite some time in the exhibition we decided to have a look into Mousegear.

DSC_0701.jpg

Lots of new stuff, so we spent a lot of time looking around. They had quite a few Dooney & Burke’s there, so we waited in line for a CM to have a closer look at them. Unfortunately the three CMs there didn’t care much and two of them tended to their own business, while the third had a conversation with two older ladies.
After about 5 minutes we gave up and walked on and a little while later we finally left the store.

Walking around we noticed lots more topiaries that they were already putting up for the Flower and Garden Festival. There were Mickey,

Minnie

and Pluto flying a kite,

Donald

and Daisy,

and many more.

We even ran into this character!

The space around the ponds was planted with thousands of flowers which made up a Mickey as well.

Time flew by and it was our Fast Pass return time, so we headed over to Mission Space,

DSC_0708.jpg

the line had subsided by then and was only 20 minutes, but once we were inside the building we went right to the front of the line and went straight into briefing. We were teamed with a Spanish speaking mother and daughter, who had not understood a word of the briefing and it was impossible to even point out what they were supposed to do.
The ride was fun as always even though we had a lot of computer override. ;) :lmao:
When we got off we wanted to walk towards the countries to have some lunch, but then we noticed that the line for Test Track was pretty short. We could not really believe it and jumped into the line and low and behold the wait was only 15 minutes.

It was really fun, since we hadn’t done it in a long time, due to really long wait times.

Needless to say, we scanned the photo they take onto our Photopass CD!

It was past 11am and that meant that World Showcase was open by now

and we could have some lunch.

Ok, before you post another update, I must eat. You are about to have lunch in WS? YUM!

So should I admit that I was a bit confused? I was thinking I was reading your PTR :rotfl: Took me a minute to realize this was your recent trip.

I have never seen those cars on TT! I will have to try and look for them on our next trip.

The topiary trees are awesome.

Sorry for the lack of customer service at Mousegears. :sad2:

I updated all my threads today. So there should be at least a few more food pics for you today. :rotfl2:

So sorry you got confused with all my threads, but it is easy to do! :lmao: There are too many of them.

I have tried to get the cars in the middle of the loop before, but I never got it right, this time I hit the button at the perfect moment!

You need to go for F&G once, Ann, the topiaries are just amazing!
