Not political. Our soldiers deserve our thoughts and prayers.

4 NC soldiers killed in Iraq Monday. Where are the memorials, flowers, candles and mourning for them? Where is their wall to wall coverage on CNN, Fox etc? This world has their priorities seriously screwed up.

So so sad. My prayers are with all the military and their families. DS is in the Air Force but hasn't yet been deployed but I know it is coming....

Quite frankly, MJ was known and admired by millions of people around the world. The soldiers were known by less. Therefore I don't see how it's unreasonable for MJ's death to be receiving more attention.

While agree that more should be done to honor our service men and women, the fact that more attention is not given is certainly nothing new. I remember during Vietnam the totals given each night on the news of the number of soldiers killed that day. It became totally routine. It was just another line on the nightly news. Sad, but people get hardened to this type of reporting until it becomes personal.

You are right. And so is the PP. MJ's death was a shock and he was known all over the world by millions. I guess it just seems so screwed up. I was venting. We lost a friend in Iraq almost 4 years ago and it still hurts. So I know why it's going on in the media, I'm just sad about it. Thinking about the families and friends of those who were recently killed....they have to be incredulous about the coverage MJ has received. I just think the media is over doing it, and the ones who deserve to be remembered, at least in the US, seem to be overlooked. In a perfect world, there would be no fallen troops.
