Not much variety. This is what my kids will be eating:

So I just went thru all the menus for our ADR and CS places. It looks like my kids will be eating:

pizza (4 times)
hot dog (4 times), corn dog (1 time)
chicken nuggets/strips (4 times)
buffet (4 times)
noodles
mac and cheese
pb&j
taco
mini sub

I think I managed to skip all the healthy meals!!! :rotfl:

That looks like a pretty good variety. My 8 year old survived on grilled cheese sandwiches and pizza for our whole 10 day trip. Our 11 year old ate only chicken strips and peanut butter sandwiches (I usually ordered plain bread and used Jif singles that I carried in my bag in case the place didn't have PB). Breakfast was usually pancakes or french toast and bacon at the Pop foodcourt.

It looks like your kids will eat a better variety than mine did. Hope you have a great trip!:)

I actually took a look at the menus earlier and the TS look really good for the kids. LeCellier is offering steak...ds will be thrilled.

I haven't looked at CS yet..if the kids get bored with the selections, I'm planning on splitting with them. The adult portions were really large last year.

Pizza has cheese (dairy) and tomato sauce (vegetable). Healthful.
Hot dogs and corn dogs have meat... sorta ;) (protein). Heathful.
Chicken nuggets have chicken (protein). Healthful.
Noodles probably have tomato sauce (another vegetable). Healthful.
Mac & cheese has cheese (dairy). Healthful.
PB&J has peanut butter (protein) and jelly (fruit). Healthful.
Taco has beef (protein), cheese (dairy), and tomato & lettuce (vegetable). Healthful.
Mini-sub has meat (protein), cheese (dairy), and vegetables (vegetables). Healthful.
No guarantees on the buffets, though. Who knows what junk foods are going to be available there :teeth:

MY KIDS COULD LIVE ON THOSE SELECTIONS FOR A MONTH AND NEVER COMPLAIN!

If you eat at any of the buffets, your kids could get more of a choice. The CS is limited, but the buffets might be better so your kids would have more variety.:goodvibes

We've got 4 buffets in there, but honestly I think they will choose more chicken strips! They don't have very sophisticated pallets! :rotfl:

That is a GREAT idea!!! :goodvibes I think I'll pack a box of those and pick up some jelly packs. THANKS!!!

:thumbsup2 Great thread. I will share my kids' options. One DD is 10 and luckily for her she counts as an adult because she loves good food. DD8 and DS5 could sustain on chicken noodle soup and mac n cheese if I'd let them. I chose some of our ADRs based on a little variety for the kids (not that they'll eat anyway). :rotfl:

Besides Chef Mickey's, Princess lunch in Norway, Crystal Palace, and Mama Melrose for F! where kids and adults have the same menu due to the F! package, these are their choices:

~ chicken nuggets/fingers 3x
~ fish basket
~ mac n cheese 6x
~ pasta with marinara sauce 2x
~ turkey pinwheel/wrap/sandwich 4x
~ pizza 6x
~ macaroni and beef with marinara
~ hot dog 2x
~ steak 2x
~ quesadilla
~ salad with grilled chicken
~ mini corndogs
~ chicken noodle soup
~ pb and j 2x
~ tempura fish
~ chicken breast 2x
~ BBQ chicken salad
~ fruit plate
~ lobster soup
~ grilled mahi mahi
~ grilled fish of the day
~ teriyaki chicken with veggies and rice
~ McDonald's
~ chicken leg
~ taco

Not too bad! :cheer2:

We were concerned about this also on our last visit. But the manager at our WDW Hotel let us in on a little loophole. While its true your TS meals are divided as Adult and Child, not so for CS. The only way they know is by the number of adults and children listed on your ticket. Soooooo... The manager at our WDW Hotel told us to make two trips through the line when ordering CS food. Sure you have to wait in line twice, BUT your child can order WHATEVER he/she likes from the menu and it was worth it for us.

Once we were told we could do this, we did every time without fail. We did not feel as if we were doing anything wrong since we were told about the loophole from a WDW employee. :thumbsup2

Okay. so TS will say x Adult TS and x Child TS but when it comes to CS, it just has the number of credits not divided by age?

Okay, but in all this talk about healthful - don't forget they can have grapes and carrots or applesauce as their sides with counter service meals. That would ensure they get some fruits or veggies in there (if you are concerned about it).

And at TS, they can have salads, apples, veggies and dip and other "healthy" sides depending on what they order.

Think about what you're going to eat during the week.

How many of us really vary from two or three entree items?

My 20 year old cousin ordered chicken at just about every table service restaurant and my 55 year old Dad ordered steak at just about every table service restaurant. Although variety may be offered, how many of us really use it?

I agree with you. If we go to a steak place I get steak anywhere else I get chicken the only time I try something new is at a buffet. I try a little if I like it get more if not leave it. With your buffet places they can have anything maybe they would try something new.

Okay - just to make sure I'm reading this right, did you wait in line two times because your children were waiting in line with you?

Or did you wait in line two times so they didn't know you were purchasing xxx amount of "adult" food?

For some reason, I'm totally confused!:confused3

My husband would go up first and order his choice and my DD6's selection, both from the adult section while I found a place to sit with our baby. When they came back, I would go to get my own meal.

My DD6 never finished the adult cs meals, but at least she could have something other than PBJ crustables (hates this) :sad2:

We were never questioned about CS credit use.

I gotta say that I often have 2 or 3 items from a specific restaurant that I tend to order (just cuz I KNOW how good they are)...but I may have steak one place, any variety of seafood another, feel like a burger tonight...(OK, I rarely order chicken out cuz we have it so often at home...but sometimes!)
My family has never been predictable!(DS 12 almos always orders a grilled cheese, but he will branch out to burger or maybe even chicken strips!:rotfl: )

I was worried about DS12 on adult DDP...he is the kids meal poster child. I mentioned that maybe his sister, 9, could order from adult menu & he could have her kids meal...but he informed me he likes steak! WHO KNEW??!! (not something we usually have at home, nor am I willing to pay steak prices for my kid at a restaurant!)

Thanks for the clarification!:thumbsup2

I am so glad to hear this. I will get my twin the child selection if it is something they like - but I think it is great that I could order an adult meal for them to share. Watching thier big brother get a good desert while they get fruit or jello could be a problem.
