Not Making Room Requests

I have made room requests for every trip I've been on. Most of the time I have to wait quite a long time for my room - which is fine. But I'm going on a quick weekend trip this August and want a room as early in the day as possible. Do you think not putting in any room requests during online check-in will give me a better chance to get a room earlier or does it matter? I booked a standard studio at Boardwalk Villas through Disney.

Isn't early check in a "request"? Something like "I wouldn't mind having this or that, but if a room is ready right away for early check in? That's my first priority."

I don't think it necessarily makes a difference. When your room is ready, it's ready.

We checked in at 7:30am on our trip last month and our room was ready at 9:30am. And I made room requests and got exactly what I requested. But we've had other trips when our room wasn't ready until after 4.

Sounds like a phone call is in order. I would just make the request for earliest available.

I would call. I plan to call for that same request. We are arriving in the morning and I would like our room ready if possible I booked a DVC villa on a cash basis, but the checkin is at 4 PM. I hope if I make one request, and that's it, we will have an earlier check in that if I make a multitude, especially given that I am not familiar enough witht eh resort to even know what to request! LOL!

Same! Plus it's such a short trip for us, I don't really care where we are. Our plane arrives at 8:30 am, so I'd really hate to wait all day.

Call and have it noted, also once you get to the resort (if you haven't received a room ready text yet) go to the check in desk and let them know that you are there and will take the first available room in your category. I fly on a red eye from CA and arrive really early and I have excellent luck with this method, I don't usually get my room right then and there, but it is out of the norm for us to have to not have our room before noon.

If our room isn't ready early we drop off our belongings, carry-ons etc. to luggage services and head to the parks or to eat somewhere.
