Not Making Fastpass+ Reservations Prior to Trip

Hi everyone. We're going down to the Orlando-area in mid-December. Since we're going to be down there anyway, we're planning on driving over to Epcot during two of the days. We're planning on buying our tickets each time at the gate, which means no FP+ reservations prior to entering the park.

Are we going to be waiting in hour-long lines for rides that shouldn't have ANY? (like SE, LwtL, Maelstrom, etc)? Would we be totally out of luck reserving FP+ the day-of after we enter the park? I am such a planner, that NOT planning and linking and pre-purchasing is making me bonkers. :scared:

HELP. Is this going to be ruinous? :wave2:

Lines will be longer where they used to be shorter, yes. But you'll be able to get most anything with FP that day if you like. You'll be fine.

I made a quick day trip to the Magic Kingdom two weeks ago and had to make FP+ reservations after entering the park. This was a Sunday in July so it was fairly busy. There were no fast passes available for 7DMT so I got FP's for the mountains then waited in line for 7DMT. I got all of my FP's for early times since I knew I could get additional FP's once I used the three. I finished the day with 7 FP's and I left the park at 8:00 pm. Had I stuck around I probably could have grabbed an 8th FP. I'm not sure what level of success you can have doing this at Epcot since they have fewer FP attractions, but same day FP's can work very well. It did for me anyway.

The size of your party would make a big impact on the extra FP+s you would be able to get.

There were two of us. Of course the size of your party will have an impact on FP availability. I merely stated my experience, your mileage may very.

Also MK seems to be the best park to get 8 or more FP+ at...

I would try and rope drop Epcot and ride SOARIN first and then single rider line TT and then go for FP. You should be able to get a slight discount buying the tickets earlier..
