Not looking good for our USAir/MetroJet flight

I saw a news story this weekend about MetroJet. They are flying the MetroJet planes to a storage airport out in Arizona. It showed a bunch of them already parked there and more landing.

All the Metrojet planes are being decommissioned. I assume that the cancelled flights that will no longer run, they are flying the planes to Arizona, to the great plane graveyard in the sky.

Today we cancelled our rebooked USAir flights and booked cheaper non-stop flights (out of Manchester NH instead of Logan!) with Southwest. I am so glad that this flight fiasco is over with.

USAir decided to retire their 737-200 planes (which were used by Metrojet) and MD-80's. These are their oldest planes. They fly them to Arizona for storage because the dry climate keeps them in better condition until a buyer is found (charter airlines or private companies usually buy the planes that the major airlines retire).

Our USAir flight has been rescheduled for the fourth - and final i hope - time as of yesterday from Hartford. Many changes but we do hope to have a few days enjoying ourselves!!!

When I rebooked my flight last night I notice that the flight out of LGA was MetroJet. I asked the agent if that was correct and she said yes. That flights showing now are correct until the end of December. Today I check my flight numbers for flight status today and tomorrow and they don't show up! Now I am concerned that those flights will be cancelled as well. This is TOO stressful!
