Why can't it be 80 or 85 for a high?

WHY does it have to be 100 degrees on the week that we end up going in OCTOBER???

Ugh.

Oh I know. I almost chose the first week of Oct for our vacation, but luckily we're leaving Seattle in a week, arriving at the parks on Oct 9. So far weather shows low 70's....perfect!

As for the steamy weather, get to the parks early, take a mid-day break, or find nice a'c cooled places to spend the hottest part of the day. I've seens threads that give great suggestions about how to stay cool on the warmest days.

No matter what the weather is, hey...you'll be in Disneyland!!! pixiedust:

Lalalalala not listening ;) I am crossing fingers it stays in the low 80s lol however, we are well stocked with fans!

We are here now. Way too hot. And so humid, bleah. Our day was short today, and I think that's a trend that will continue.

We went last year in October, and hit record breaking heat!!! I think it was something like 106 degrees one day!!!:scared1: We would leave the park around 2 and hit the swimming pool to cool off! I have to say, nothing feels better than a nice, cool swimming pool when its 106 degrees!;)

We leave for DL on Oct 9th. I just HOPE, HOPE, HOPE it cools off a little before I get there!!! :bitelip:

We were there Sept 14-22 when it was around 100 and it was awful :( It was so crowded and then the heat on top of it ugh. That was the first time I have ever been to Disneyland and didn't enjoy myself. I was so glad to get home where it's been in the high 60s lol.

I've been in September three times now and every time there's been a massive heatwave. I'm sticking to January/February from now on I think.

I hope it's in the 80 by the time we go. On the 15th. Even though we are use to 110-120 degree weather. 70 degrees for us is a little chili. Lol

It was ok early in the day today, but by about 2:00 we left for the hotel. We spent about 20 minutes standing outside for Astro Blasters, and afterward we were DONE. Kids swam and I turned our room AC to freezing. LOL Went back this evening and it was soooo much better.

My best advice is to bring lots of cold water and some misters. It was a pain to lug around, but worth it.

We are going to be there this next week as well and was so surprised at the weather forecast! I thought it was going to start cooling down by now. Sounds like we'll be trying to get our money's worth with the hotel!

In the spirit if Walt's vision, I will wear a suit when I attend brunch at Club 33 today.

In the spirit of 95 degree heat, I hope I don't suffer heat stroke as a result of doing so...

The weather this week is going to be so bad, especially tomorrow! I have no clue where this heat is coming from; it's October (very soon), it shouldn't be this hot. Stay as cool as possible, people!

I just want to reassure you. I was there Sept 14th to 23rd. Our first park day was the 15th. It was hot, very hot and more humid than I am used to.!

Now I do not like high heat. I would much rather be too cold than too hot. It was not as bad as I had thought it would be! Drink lots of water, use and reapply water/sweat resistant sunscreen, wear a hat, do some inside rides/shows to get out of the heat, splurge on some frozen lemonades ;-), get a misting fan, take an afternoon swim break. I actually wore a knee length full skirt one day! It was way cooler than capris or shorts for me!

Have fun! We had a blast! We laugh now at home some of the silly things we did because of the heat. We had a squirt fight with the mister. I, who does not like getting wet while in clothes, actually went on Splash many times and did Grizzly!! In cooler weather I would have sat out.... I had fun with my family on those rides! We went on the Ariel ride when coming off the boardwalk just to cool down. Out kids are a bit old for the Ariel ride.

No matter what you are at DL!!!! You will have fun regardless!!!!

While in DCA, exit to the Hotel there and relax in the lobby while listening to Disney piano music in plush chairs! Then go back and use your fast passes.
Lots of areas to cool off while waiting for fast passes to be usable. Pizza Port "outdoor area" near the side of the Space Mountain area.
Take a break with Mr. Lincoln... watch the video with restored footage when the park first opened.
Bring lots of water.
You will have a great time regardless of the heat... and the night will be really nice and warm, no need to run back to the car or locker for a jacket!

Have fun!!!

It does cool off a lot at night. I would take a long midday break for swimming and naps, and then stay until closing. Good luck! And grab fastpasses early for Splash and GRR.

Mr. Lincoln is almost like a cool dip in the pool for us. It's so cool and empty in there! Maybe not when it's 100+, though.

we wont take brakes this time because the small hours so we will go to mr lincon and a few other rides indoors and on the splash and grr too maybe we will go in to the gch and look around havent ever spent time in the lobbys

I am out here visiting my DS23 and he decided to take the day off tomorrow (my last Cali day) and go to DL/CA- he's been in college out here so hasn't been since I brought him at 5 mos old. Wish me luck! LOL We will have fun no matter what - he is my WDW boy:goodvibes. The biggest positive I can think of is that the park is rated at 1.1 for the day - pretty slow so hopefully no outdoor lines - and I'm pretty sure no locals will be crazy enough to be there because the temp looks like it will be back to 85 by Thurs.
The weather in Santa Monica has been PERFECT this week though.:thumbsup2

Hope you did not end up in first aid!

Yesterday I tanked early. Today it was my son. Too dang hot. We are also both still recuperating from that awful cold going around...we had the worst of it two weeks ago but it hangs on and on in the form of exhaustion. He has been around twelve hours behind me in symptoms the whole time so today's tiredness makes sense. Today I felt ok, so I hope we can feel HEALTHY tomorrow!

I will offer one small piece of advice for you....if you are doing DCA, go visit Cars Land first thing in the morning (yes, I know, with EVERYONE else!). The minute you step into Cars Land with that black top surface (just like normal streets), it feels a good 10+ degrees warmer. My husband and I couldn't believe the difference once we walked out of Cars Land. So, if you can, go early to see/ride everything in Cars Land to help keep what is going to be another hot week a little bit cooler. Good luck and stay hydrated!!!
