I am wondering if we will feel like we missed something if we do not get off in Nassau. I was reading the latest Navigator's for the 4-day Wonder, and quite frankly, my kids would have more fun staying on the ship and going to the Oceaneer club than anything we could do off the ship. AND it will not cost us anything.

I don't even want to get off. But my DH will feel like we are there, so lets GO. I don't want to spend any money. My husband and I already did the Atlantis beach day when we took the cruise 3 years ago. I was not that impressed. Yes, the aquarium was cool, but my kids are too young to appreciate it.

I figure we can stay on the ship in Nassau, and get off at Castaway Cay. I no the kids will LOVE that....but Nassau??? hmmmmmmmm

Where did you get the recent Navigator?

How much do they charge you for the Atlantis Beach Day...I know you can't use the pools but do they allow you to explore the Hotel?

Thanks

Kyle

I personally don't think you will miss much. We don't get off at Nassau very often. It is much nicer to stay on the ship and enjoy that. If the kids are young, they won't even know the difference. They will just have fun in the clubs.

I agree with Cruisin'Kroezes and aprilgail2...stay on the ship! For us it was kind of like "been there-done that" and enjoyed being on the ship so much more.

Don't sweat leaving the ship in Nassau....we're going with friends on 3-day this Thurs....I have no plans on leaving ship in Nassau....We've been to Atlantis and straw mkt not long ago....DW on other hand won't pass up a shopping opportunity:p

stay stay stay

we got off 17 years ago & didn't want to go - but my husband also thought we were missing something so we took the kids & they were thoroughly scared - all the women asking to braid hair - and then when my sister wanted to get off we walked to hard rock cafe - one or two stores - and then decided to go right back to the ship - now we never get off - and we have the whole ship to ourselves - the pools are less crowded - the activities are less crowded - we did the wine tasting - so we recommend staying on board and enjoying the ship w/o the crowds

STAY ON THE SHIP!

Our first cruise was on the Wonder (3 night) and we went over to Atlantis to see what was there, gamble a few dollars and walked around the town when we returned. We weren't impressed. Smart son stayed at the kid's club!

We took another Wonder cruise December '02 (4 night). This time we wanted to stay on the ship but son wanted to see the town. About 15 minutes of Nassau, and he wanted to go back to the kid's club. This cruise also went to Freeport and we definitely stayed on the ship there!!

I guess I'll be the contrarian here, but we didn't get off in Nassau and regreted it.

Be aware that there are very few scheduled activities while the ship is in port. The adult activities the day we were there were auditions for ESPN or board games on deck. The stores on the ship are all closed while in port, so you can't shop. The kids clubs have mostly down time while the ship is in port. My kids tried to go to the kids clubs 3 times and there was nothing going on and not enough computers for either of them to get one so they gave up.

If you want to see a Disney movie or go to the spa you may enjoy that time on the ship, but if you are hoping for something special to do you may be disappointed.
