we're flying with them for 1st time in 4 wks (economy) we had meals included when we booked but now just had an updated e-ticket from TC which now says we dont get an inflight meal!!

should i complain???

We rarely eat airplane food, rather eat in the airport before boarding but I would 100% complain if I had written confirmation it was included, they can't change if its in writing.

Check out this link to a customer community on Thomas Cook and there's a similar complaint with an answer from an employee, seems there's a problem with the e-ticket, so place your question on that site for an offical reply, good luck......

Here's the question.....
3 In flight meals are showing as "not available" on E ticket received today for our holiday on 4 August flight number MON1874. We have paid £16 per person for them.

Here's their reply..........

Hi Sharon, I have looked into this and there is an error with the e-ticket. Inflight meals are available on this flight and you will receive these. Please take your first invoice with you which does show that meals are included. Kind Regards Paul

I've found Thomas Cook's online service to be pretty hopeless - we flew to the Canaries a few weeks ago. We had booked (and paid for) seating together and that got messed up, but was sorted out with a phone call.
The advice above is good - take your confirmations/invoice etc. with you in case of any issues.

well ive rang them - he couldnt understand why meals were no longer there but said he couldnt change it so i asked for an e-mail stating we get meal - he sends the e-mail but he now says meals can be withdrawn at anytime without refunds!! so the e-mail is not confirming my meals!

THEN i go on flythomas cook to sort api & it says theres a problem *** they have my daughter as an adult & she should be a child, after putting in booking ref, changing adult to child & spending ages putting passport/resort info in i get to the end & it says error & to put in flight dates which i do & then it says no flights on that date & i loose all the info i just spent ages putting in!!!!

ARGHhhhhh :mad::headache:

life was much simplar when i could afford to go with virgin!!!

will try again at weekend to put api in now gotta decide whether to call/e-mail monarch to find out about this meal!

For a long haul flight, in-flight meals should be included.

If you don't get any joy, log a complaint via the online for on their website. If you have original confirmations/paperwork showing in-flight meals are included, take these with you when you travel to show meals were included at the time you booked - however I hope you manage to get this resolved before you travel.

Thx laura :thumbsup2
the e-mail was quoting monarch's policy regarding withdrawing meals - but i booked with direct/thomas cook holidays who said meals were included!!
so surely its their responsibility??!!

im more annoyed with how rubbish they are at informing info & dealing with my calls than not having the actual meal!!

ah well we shall see...

.

surprisingly they don't have to,if you book a last minute one within 7 days of departure (with Thomas cook)meals not included.think its a sign of things to come
Pre booked seats free now paid for
Sitting together free now paid for
Extra legroom free(had to check in early)now paid for
Alcohol free now paid for
hvae eaten meals on flight but honesty there C**p. used to get options, nowadays just one
We look forward to our own butties, pringles, pop and crisp more

VA have forgotten to put my DH pre-ordered special meals onboard on several occassions..:confused3 you are far better off going for cheaper flights and taking your own food on...

Hope you get it sorted soon..

Oh don't even go there! We had that problem twice in 2009 on VA. I expected better for PE! Especially since I rang them a few days before as required and confirmed them -both ways. Both flights they forgot! We always take our own food now as DD refuses to eat on a plane since that experience.
