Not impressed with Via Napoli

Normally we are pretty happy with food in the World but EPCOT seems to be struggling with Italian after Alfredo's.

We were in the parks for 6 days for New Years and tried a few we had not eaten at before.Via Napoli was the only one that came up short with bland food,tiny portions and high prices even for Disney for what we were offered.We love Tony's at the low end and Il Mulino at the high end but this place get's a thumbs down.

I've lived in Europe and travelled extensively in Italy.My MIL came over from Italy on a boat and has lived with us for nearly 18 yrs and still cooks a bit.My wife grew up NY Italian with a little different take on the food.We'll be eating at Il Mulinos next time we want Italian out.

I think it's unfair to compare any Epcot restaurant with what you get in Europe. I didn't expect Via Napoli's food to taste like what I ate in Italy any more than I expected Chefs de France to taste like what I had in Paris, etc. The food should still be good but I know I'm not expecting authentic at Epcot.

I thought Napoli's portions were too big but I was not overly impressed with the food. It was the worst meal of our trip also. When we were there it was packed and the noise level was painful; the food came out quick enough but there was no sign of a server to refill our drinks.

I also prefer Il Mulino. Paying that much more for food, I'd expect to prefer it.

I agree with you. We ate at Via Napoli and didnt like it either. I did a little review. We are NY pizza snobs and I had a bite of dh pizza. It was terrible!! My entree was more like an appetizer portion here in NY.

We will go back to Tutto or maybe try Il Mulino too next time. The only thing that was good was the dessert and knowing we got a discount with our tiw card.
