Just to compain a bit...earlier in the week my 3 y.o. wanted to go on splash mountain after seeing the drop and hearing the screams. So standby was all of 10 minutes so me, her and grandpop went for it. It took less than 10. She laughed the whole time. She said it was her favorite ride. All she wanted to do was go back on. But the line got out of control fast and we had other fast passes scheduled, so we were due to go back today and would make sure we got on it. Fast forward to today. Had a fast pass for big thunder mountain. She loved it. Wait wasn't too bad so we hit it again. Splash mountain had a 70 minute wait by this point so we weren't attempting. Later the wait dropped to 45 so i figured we'd do it. This time the kid, mom and dad went. We had 2 hours to meet Ariel. We figured plenty of time. Well big thunder mountain broke down as we were waiting. Disney put all the thunder mountain fastpasses onto splash mountain while it was down. That 45 minute wait turned into 2 hours. We were 20 minutes late to Ariel. I explained what just happened and they reactivated our fast pass for that so we didn't have to go on the 60 minute standby for that. But i still feel wht they did to the splash mountain standby's wasn't right. I was really impressed that my girl kept her patience because i was loosing mine as we stood on that bridge for 50 minutes as fastpass kept blowing by us.

:(

Your DD is a Real Princess waiting that long. and you rock for doing that for her. :flower1:
Thanks. Forgot to add me running carrying her from splash mountain to the grotto through a rather high traffic day with my wife being lead blocker.

Totally understand your frustration! It's bad enough being in the standby line and watching all of the FP holders breeze on by, but to have that time increased like that - I commend you for staying in line! Hope it didn't ruin your day.

What do you mean they put all the thunder mountain fastpasses under splash? Typically, if a ride goes down, you are alerted that your pass is now useable at a list of attractions, including the one that is down, and it can be used anytime. Did they make a specific announcement about this?

I guess stuff happens is the only real way to explain it. At least you got to enjoy the rides he thee days without frustration plus the Cast Members at Ariel accommodated you.

Again, usually if a ride breaks or malfunctions you are given almost a any use fast pass on any attraction so I'm assuming most people wanted Splash.

Hope you guys enjoyed the rest of your stay

Correct.

I'm sure that they were given a range of choices, but most all probably just chose to get on Splash Mountain due to its' close proximity.

It seems the CMs should have warned people that the SB wait was getting really long. I guess you could look at the app, but I have to admit, I don't know if I would have thought to look for the wait time, once I was already in line. You can't see the displayed time once you are in line, so you don't really know. Some rides, you can't even see the FP+ line, so that's no help either. That's a bummer.

Glad your kid was such a trouper. Take credit now, because there will be things later that you don't want to take credit for:)

I am guessing that proximity may have led folks to go en masse to the adjacent attraction.

I'm guessing they need some dynamic load management that leaves the closest "E" ticket off the list of alternate FP+ locations to avoid exactly what happened to OP...
Can you imagine how long that would take to explain to guests? You can go on any attraction using this FP except ABC any time today. It would be a solution, but I am not sure folks would like it

It actually doesn't take long. MDE updates and it tells you what the FP is valid for already. Mine Train seems to never make the cut and is usually omitted from that list, for example.

People love anytime fp's! There are always some exclusions anyways. TSMM at HS is almost always excluded from an anytime FP when a ride is down.

This happened to me on my last trip. We were in a 10min JC SB line when POTC went down. We missed our 7DMT FP.

I'm sorry it happened to you!

Yes, quite possible, but not everyone who wants to ride BTMR likes Splash, and it seems odd that the FP line was that full at BTMR that it added that much wait time. My guess is that the wait time on the sign was either read incorrectly or just listed incorrectly. That's why I was asking if CMs made an announcement of some sort. Lol

I still don't understand. One hours worth of BTMR fast passes shouldn't have increased the Splash standby wait by more than an hour. That should have only added 15 minutes, tops.
