Okay we have been getting it for about 15 months. Started with the HouseParty offer, no problme but a broken one once a blue moon. BUT in the last 2-3 months almost EVERY title is broken at least once and sometimes up to 3 times before we recieve one not broken.

SO frustrating!!! Nothing has changed, same mail box, same 2 mail people same cold weather. UGG!!!

Wow! That sounds extreme! We have been using netflix for several years and have had only one or two broked dvd's. I think they have a right to charge you for broken dvd's if it becomes excessive...and it sounds like it may be! I would talk to your mailman/woman.

I have never received a broken disc. I've had a couple that were too scratched to play right, but that's it. Something is definitely wrong with how your PO is handling them.

That is strange. I have never had a broken one. I had one scratched that they sent out a replacement immediately. I hope they can get it fixed for you soon so you don't get anymore broken discs.

Most likely the problem is with the USPS and not with Netflicks. I remember reading an article a while back that said that Netflicks approved their red envelopes with USPS prior to having them printed. Unfortunately, USPS failed to test them on their sorting machines prior to giving their OK. The Netflicks envelopes can not be passed through the sorting machines, otherwise the disc breaks. The USPS offices are suppose to know that, but many just ignore it and thus discs get destroyed.

we've never had a problem with any disc (broken or scratched) in 2 years with netflix. it definitely has to be the USPS.

good luck!

Weve had netflix for over a year and have never recieved a broken or even scratched disc. My only issue is that so have had Four Christmas at the top of my DVD list for awhile now and it keeps skipping it and has sent me atleast 5 DVDs under it. For some reason I can't currently see the availability for it either?

We have had them for 2 years and only 1 broken disk so far. That is crazy and I would contact them about it.

I'd talk to your postmaster. It seems like they are getting run through machines or mishandled. 2 years with NF and never a broken disk -- and we get 6 to 10 movies a month.

Years of Netflix membership.
Never had a broken or cracked disc.
Only had 1 that was scratched enough to not be able to watch & easily got replacement.

We've recieved a couple in the 2-3 years we've had netflix but it's never a real big issue. I make sure to not put them in my mailbox in the winter though to wait for the postman to pick them up. Those suckers get brittle when it's near freezing out. I could see how they get broken easier in the winter months. I drop mine off at the post office or wait till right before he shows up...

We've had netflix since they started.

In all that time we've had 1 maybe 2 broken disks.

They are ALWAYS dirty unless it's a new release and I get it within a day or so.

I'd check with your post office. I don't think the problem is Netflix.

ETA - just a thought but all the Post Offices had an early retirement program go thru about 3 months ago and a lot of employees are now either new or working new positions. I'm thinking that might be part of your trouble.

Could it be that your DVD player is wearing off???

Never had an issue with Netflix. I get prob 10 movies a month.

We have been using Netflix for several years and have never received a broken disk. I think we have only received two that were scratched and would not play. They quickly sent new movies to us. I seriously doubt that this problem stems with Netflix. I agree to that you should contact your USPS.

we've had netflix for over a year, and have never gotten a broken disc, or a disc that was too scratched to play. we've gotten 2-3 that hung up and had to be restarted in a different spot, but we managed to get them to work. i agree with the PPs...sounds like a problem at your post office. i hope you get it straightened out!

Agreed. We've had Netflix for years - never had a broken disc. My stepmother is a postmaster and they HATE those red envelopes b/c they have to be hand sorted or the disc breaks in the machine. I'm thinking your P.O isn't hand sorting them - that's why they're broken when you get them.

we've had netflix about a year and had about 2 broken discs, but never thought of it being an issue with Netflix...they handle all their discs and wouldn't send out a broken one, so I'd check with your post office and let them know about it...

now scratched discs on the other hand, we've had lots of...it gets annoying getting halfway through a movie and then realizing it is so scratched it won't play anymore...but that's not netflix's fault, it's the fault of people who STILL don't know how to handle DVDs properly..:sad2::confused:

Could it be that your DVD player is wearing off???

Never mind, for some reason when I saw “broken” I pictured it as “not playable" disc, did not see it as physically “broken disc”… :rolleyes2

It was a long day…

We have been Netflix customers for a years. I have had problems twice.

Once they sent the wrong movie. We ordered a mystery/cop type movie & got a gay love story instead. Both movies had the same title.

The second time the DVD worked fine until the last 5 minutes of the movie & wouldn't go further. We tried cleaning it & nothing helped. I reported it as damaged & sent it back requesting a replacement to see the last few minutes.) They sent the same DVD! I wasted a whole week of watching as they failed to send a replacement for a week.

I have never had a broken or cracked DVD. I did report one lost as I returned it & didn't get a new movie or an email for a week. It was found by them the next day. I find Netflix to be a reasonable price & good value. We cut out all our movie channels on cable & watch movies we want to watch from Netflix. (without worries that kids are watching things we haven't approved)
