Not happy with MS answer-call back!

I added on to OKW and with the add on I had 144 transferred points. I called to see if I could bank them and was told NO!. So I proceeded to plan another vacation for this summer thru II. I called the MS for II reservations and told her my story. She said the points could be banked and she did it. What a relief, we didn't want to vacation this summer. We are going to OKW in May so a summer trip was so close to the other one. It is so confusing to get different information when you call MS. I wish everyone knew the right info. I am not new to this but with transferred points I wasn't sure. I guess if I don't like what I hear, I will just call back!!!

Banked/borrowed points can not be transferred, but transferred points can be banked. I guess it is confusing even for MS.

I had the same thing happen to me. I verified with 2 different CMs at MS that my current use year points could be banked by the person to whom I was transferring them. I also asked this question here on the DIS. Sure enough, after I transferred the points the person to whom I transferred them called to bank them and was told it was not allowed. We eventually got it fixed but it makes me very distrustful of MS when things like this happen.

What I have also learned in the past that not only can the transferred points be banked....but
transferred points do not follow the regular banking window; if your banking window has already passed, you could still transfer in points and bank them.
I have not tried this since the new banking rule of 100% at 8 months, but assume that is still the case. I did this twice before, but both times had to get a manager involved because the cast member did not think it was allowable.

I also found out if your transferred points are a different use year, they go with that banking rule. The transferred points I got with the resale had a May use year. I just happened to call and ask about banking in Jan. I was 1 day before not being able to bank them. They also told me that I have to use them 1 year from their use year, May 2009. My use year is Sept. I will be glad when those points are gone and I don't have to worry about a different use year!
