Not going to MNSSHP~ avoid MK earlier that evening?

Hi~
We're going to Disney in October.
I'm sure you'll think we're nuts, since I know so many people seem to absolutely love MNSSHP...but, we'd prefer not to go to it. I have two younger children who are used to going to sleep around 8pm- and I don't want to bring them around the park screaming all night because they're tired. I know the MNSSHP goes pretty late.
Anyway...keeping this in mind, we're planning to go to MK on two seperate nights- both of which are MNSSHP nights.

How are the crowds due to MNSSHP? Will everyone (except us) be dressed that evening before it even starts? Should we just try to avoid the park altogether the nights of MNSSHP if we're not planning on attending it?

We did not do MNSSHP this year but went to the MK on the MNSSHP days and this is one of my best tips!!

Most people go to other parks or take an afternoon break and then use their MNSSHP ticket to go to the MK that night

at 2:30 we got on Buzz Lightyear - by 6:00 we had accomplished:

Indy Speedway, Dumbo, Pooh, played in Pooh's playground, Snow White, Small World, Aladdins Carpet, Tiki Birds, Swiss Family Treehouse, Cinderella's Carousel twice and Philharmagic

the parks are very light in the afternoon and we did a ton of stuff!!!

The park closes at 6:00p on party nights so you won't be able to be there at 'night'. You'll have to leave by 6:00p. There's always a mass exodus starting around 5:00p.

Anyway, I've always found the park crowds just fine party days. Not more crowded at all.

Yes, I know that it wouldn't be the "night" that we're there...I mistyped and meant afternoon or late afternoon. We go back to the room for a nap and will then return to MK after nap.
