Hey everyone,

My husband and I got a great deal on an all inclusive vacation to Dominican Republic for Aug 7-14 (5 star for 1300 for both of us including taxes and insurance) so we booked that over the Disney vacation that was going to run us about 3500 without meals. It was sad but had to be done, we're nealy married and need to watch the pennies.

I have some questions about Disney in January. My husband and I would like ot know if the pricing in January is cheeper? And if so, does anyone know how much?

Please let me know..I'm still dreaming of disney...

Hi There,

I went to WDW in the past mostly in January because of price and crowds. I never found it that expensive as it is off-season. Also, I have found that the last week or second to last week seems to have freakishly nice weather. I remember like 2000-2500. With my AP's now, it will be more like 1500.

Regs,

We always go in January or Feb. because the price is lower and its a good time for DH and I to get time off of work. Last year we went in Feb, stayed at All-star and it was a little over $1000 for the two of us for tickets and hotel. Depends on where you want to stay really. We already booked for this upcoming Feb. the prices have gone up but we are hoping for a deal like the one going on now might pop up. Because really free food would be cool.

The crowds are lighter, we still used Fast pass on the weekends and on the E-ticket rides, but most of the time we were able to just walk on most things. The only drawback to going in off season is that there is slightly more refurbishment going on and some rides may be down for reburb, or in our case parts of the castle were being re-done for the 50th.

The weather is good. Ok so we are Canadian so anything other than snow if Feb. is good. The pools are heated and well in the mornings you may need a sweater but that's about it.

IMHO its my favorite time of year to go.

You could also look into renting points from a DVC member that way you get a deluxe accomodation for the price of a value resort. Mind you even being DVC members we still love staying in the Value resorts all of the All Stars are our favourites.

DVC members get a yearly alotment of points. Some members have extra oints left or will rent the points to pay cash for a cruise. You can rent points from members to stay at DVC resorts like Boardwalk Villas or Beachclub Villas
or Old Key West Villas at Wilderness Lodge etc. All DVC rooms including studios have a fridge and microwave toaster and coffee maker and usually a kettle. Look into it it is a great way to save a large amount of money on a deluxe accomodation.

We always go January/February...weather can vary (in our experience) from 37 degrees fahrenheit to 88 degrees (but mostly mid 60's to low 80's in the daytime, IOE)...the prices for resorts are at their lowest (rack rate)...most attractions are walk-ons or little wait...crowds are at their lowest...WE LOVE IT :goodvibes
...downside is that several attractions and one of the two water parks are in rehab :sad2:

Keep an eye out for special deals/codes and you may get some great pricing. ie. free meals program for this fall
