not enough time?

I have booked ohana's for 7:50 and I want to see the electrical water pageant at 9pm. I don't think I can eat fast enough and get down to the beach. Any suggestions? Eating after the pageant is not an option. Too late for 2 yr. old and no earlier ADR's available.

You'll be pushing it. If you get seated right on time, you'll be okay, but we had early ADRs (I think about 5:30) and it took a while before we were seated and then about an hour to eat. The walk to the beach will literally take you about 2 minutes, though, so that part's fast.

We found that service at table service restaurants was very slow. I thought they would want to move us in and out quickly? I would suggest telling your "cousin" that you are trying to make the parade. Hopefully that will speed things up.

We found the service at Ohana's to be fast, even a little too fast. It's faster than a regular TS since they dont have to take your order, etc. I'm sure they'll bring stuff faster if you ask them to; we had to ask them to slow down! I still think you're cutting it close, though.

My suggestions:
1 - show up early -- hopefully they will seat you early! (this has worked for us in the past).
2 - if it gets really close, have one person stay to pay the bill, etc. and the others go down to the beach.

Dont miss the dessert, though, it's to die for.

Is it possible to leave 'Ohana during the meal to quickly see the pageant and then come back to finish the meal? It's been years since we've eaten there, so I really don't remember the set-up or location of the restaurant in relation to the beach. That way, you could maybe have the appetizer and entree, see the pageant, and come back for dessert. I don't know if they permit this. In that case, you should definitely request a table by the window. Tell them that you are willing to wait for it, just as long as you are there in time for the water pageant. Otherwise, I really don't think you can compeltely finish your meal in time to get down to the beach for the pageant without rushing things. 7:50 isn't necessarily the time you will be seated. Hopefully, you will be seated by 8:00. Even then, I don't see you being able to finish the whole meal in an hour (I don't think we've ever been in and out of a WDW restaurant in an hour).
