Well, misery loves company so I thought I'd see how many others are just pressed for time.

I work full-time and have a 13 yo dd. There are just not enough hours in the day. I get up at 4:30 a.m., get ready for work, go to the fitness center at 6:30 and I'm at work by 7:30. I work till 4, stop on the way home at either library, video store, Target and do drop/offs or pick/ups. Go home, make dinner, do the dishes, tidy up, work on projects. Drive DD hither and yon. Fall into bed at 8:30, read till 9, then finally sleep.

I've moved into a new house at the beginning of June and I'm still not anywhere near unpacked. I have stacks of pictures that need to be hung and a yard that needs some serious attention in the flowerbeds. Last weekend went like this: Saturday morning--up at 6 (I sleep in), read the paper, shower, go to the grocery store. Come home, unload and clean house till noon. DD and I go to the mall to go school clothes shopping and get back at 5. Make dinner, pick up my cousin's daughter to spend the night, work on laundry, then to bed. Sunday was pretty much the same thing.

I hardly get any time to just relax anymore and it's making me crazy! I'm so behind on everything at home that I can't catch up. DD and DH both help--it just seems like with a full-time job and a house to run and child to raise--I can't do it.

I'm hoping to go to part-time in the next year or so--once I build our savings back up again (I used part of our savings to purchase a much needed new car a few weeks ago.) I just want to be more available for DD.

Anyone else care to join me in a glass of whine?

I'll join you with the "whine." Except make mine a gin and tonic!!

I pretty much have the same schedule as you. I wake at 4:30 a.m. also and have to be into work by 6:30 (but never get there until 7:15 because of my hellacious commute). Have a DD 13 and DS 9. I try to do my exercise in the evening either before or after dinner. I'm also in bed by 9. My weekends are just full of chores.
