not enough points

I am thinking of purchasing a resale dvc. My question is if i buy 100 points and it turns out i need 120 can i pay the balance of the trip in cash or do i need to borrow points from the next year. Thanks

You can use cash in combination with points. However, you can't split the cost of a night between points and cash. For example, if you want to go for 5 days and only have enough points for 4 1/2 days, then you can use points for 4 days and pay one night in cash. Then you would bank the points you have left over (for the 1/2 day you didn't use).

As you mentioned, you can also borrow.

The only piece about trying to book nights with cash is that there are not always room available through MS for cash reservations.

If there are not, then you would be required to borrow, have points transferred in from another member, or book the cash room through DCR.

I believe if you have to go through DCR, it can't be linked to your points reservation so you might end up having to move rooms.

Thank you so much that was exactly what i needed to know! I'm sure once I take the plunge and buy into dvc I will have wish i bought sooner and bought more points! Its just im a poly girl and i want to know that i will love dvc as much as i love the poly.
