Not Enough Points

Wasn't able to make the standard room reservation that I had intended for my brother's upcoming honeymoon , so he's set-up in a preferred room for his last night, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

This throws a monkeywrench into my own family's plans to visit Mickey just before Christmas 2008. We have 55 points left and need 58 for our pre-holiday visit. We are already borrowing points from a future use year so that option is out.

What do you think my chances are for the last night in a standard view coming through?

Probably decent. The other option is to visit the rent/trade board and see if you can find a member willing to transfer you 3 points. I'd say your chances of that are decent, too.

Thanks for the encouragement! I have a posting on the Rent/Trade board, no response yet. In the meantime, should I cancel the preferred room reservation in order to make our December reservation, stay on the waitlist, and rebook the 1 night reservation for my brother if someone offers to transfer 3 points?

Thanks for the offer, but after confirming with MS, I need to transfer BWV points at the 11 month window.

Anyone able to guess when the waitlist would probably come through?

Based on my own experience with waitlisting at BWV end of Nov and beginning of Dec, I have to say it is highly unlikely. You are waitlisted for a standard view (studio?) for the day before T'Day and I would not count on it coming through..

If I can't get 3 points to transfer from another member, I'll be forced to cancel the preferred view studio in order to make our own reservation. Then DB and his new wife will either leave a day early or get a place of their own to stay in for the last night...
