Not Disney related, but anything to know about flying WestJet?

We are flying to Cancun and flying WestJest. As a resident of the US, this is a new airline for us, is there anything specific to know about them, like knowing there isn't assigned seats on Southwest or you have to pay for every little thing on Spirit?

Thanks in advance, just want a smooth flight down so we can enjoy some sun.

West Jet is one of the two Canadian major airlines. They have assigned seats and no crazy charges.

Thanks for the reassurance. Sometimes reading all the negative reviews of airlines on here causes concern. We booked quickly since the rates out of Toronto were 1/2 of those from my surrounding airports.

My preferred airline is WestJet.

The Westjet website has extensive information on services fees they charge (e.g. checked baggage) as well as things like a copy of their menu, which has its prices on it.

Lots of friends and family have flown with westjet and never had any problem. Air Canada on the other hand is terrible!!!!!

The only thing I would advise about Westjet is to be aware that your plane may not have seat back entertainment during your flight. They have a free app that you can download (must be downloaded previous to your trip) to watch their in flight entertainment if your plane doesn't have seatback tv screens (you never know until you get on the plane). You can also rent a tablet from them but they are limited quantity. No hidden fees, you just lay for your luggage like every other airline.

I flew WestJet to/from Vegas last week and neither plane had seatback tv screens. But their International flights get you free movies and tv and your own device with their app and there was TONS to choose from, way better than grainy cable. Overall WestJet is my favorite airline to fly.

West Jet is my airline of choice. Seats assigned. You can change your seats when you do online check in 24 hours before flight. Meals for a fee on flight. International flights have always had seat back tv screens for me. Friendly flight crew.
