I think there are two different kinds of people who don't 'get' Disney.
First and most obvious are the people who don't like amusement parks. This is perfectly acceptable - crowds, rides - not for everybody. As we all know, there'd a whole lot more to WDW than amusement parks. But, truth be told, aside from the amusement parks, there's not that much in WDW that can't be found elsewhere. So, if you don't like amusement parks, WDW probablu isn't for you.
The second kind of person who doesn't 'get' WDW are the people who object to it because it is all contrived. It isn't real. This is a valid opinion, whether you share it or not. I love Disney, but I would never spend all my vacation time there, because there's a whole REAL world out there, and I'd like to see that too.
So, while I agree that people shouldn't be condescending towards others, based on their vacation choices, I understand where they're coming from.
