Warning: there is a spoiler for some of the films so don't read if you haven't seen any of the Pirates of the Caribbean films. You have been warned.

Now before I get into this, let me say something: I looove POTC. I saw all three films and can't get enough of it. However, I seriously have to ask the execs at Disney: haven't you heard the old saying "Stop beating a dead horse"? I wonder if they have finally gone too far. I won't be going to see it because I have the feeling I'll be horribly disappointed. Will and Elizabeth got married, have a son and Jack sails off into the sunset. I'd prefer to leave it at that. (Sorry guys, there's no Will or Elizabeth; Orlando and Keira turned down the request to appear in the movie. I honestly think they made the right choice.)

So, seriously, do you think Disney is beating a dead horse here? Will you go see POTC: On stranger tides when it comes out? And will you see it with anticipation or will your hopes be lowered in case you'll be disappointed? I fear it'll be like the Saw films. They've got SIX Saw films. I bet they're still going to crank out another Saw sequel. Ugh. Puhleeze show some mercy!

Well, the last one DID leave off with Captain Jack heading toward Flordia, to look for the fountain of youth, so maybe he found it and now works at WDW?

I'll see it. I'm in it for Jack. (I never understood the obsession over Orlando Bloom.) Now if Will returned and Jack wasn't in it, I might just wait for it to come out on Netflix, but if Jack is back I'll be there opening weekend.

I'm always prepared for sequels to not live up to expectations (Queen of the Damned - 'nough said.), but I thought they did really well with II and III. Each one got a little darker and more fanciful than the original, but that's my style, so I didn't mind too much.

As long as Jack is in the POTC movies I will go see them. I expect a lot of other people feel the same way. He is truly the central character. There can be another Will or Elizabeth but... Jack -- there's only one.

::yes::

Like my mom says, Elizabeth and Will's story is over. We love POTC mostly because of Jack, and as long as he's there, we'll be there.

Maybe without W&E they can get a whole new, fresh angle. I hope so, because we're really looking forward to the next installement!

No Will, no Elizabeth, only Jack, I'm In!!!!!:cool1:
Really, they are not "beating a dead horse". Maybe you could say that if they had all the same characters and similar story line. From what I've read, it's all about Jack now and he was the most popular character in the movie. So, give me more Johnny Depp and I'm a happy girl! Not only will I go see it, but I will be there opening day!!!

No Will, no Elizabeth, no problem!! As long as Jack is sailing, I'm there at midnight. :dance3:

Jack IS POTC! As long as he is in it, I'll see it in the theater and I'll buy it on DVD! Love them all! I don't think they're a "dead horse" at all.:thumbsup2

I do think they should have stopped after POTC3. I think the whole Pirate "thing" has had its 15 minutes. JMHO.

I actually think no Will and Elizabeth could breath fresh life into the series. We'll see it!

Ehh.. I'm not sure how I feel about #4 but I will go see it.

I guess I'm the only one sad to see Will and Elizabeth go?

I am happy to hear that they are making another and it won't involve the Will and Elizabeth characters. That story line if finished and I don't see how they could be involved, based on the ending of POTC3.

Looking forward to all the other pirates being back.

I would not be surprised if there is a 4th, there will be some mention in it of what Will and Elizabeth are doing.

Captains Jack & Barbossa and I'm a happy girl. :thumbsup2

I'll be there to see it opening weekend, for sure. Jack is POTC, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm still more than a little bitter about Norrington's demise, though.

mmmmmmmmm Captain Jack.......I'm ready for a new Pirates movie. :)

I did like Will & Elizabeth but their story has been told, Jack and Barbossa have more to share with us. :)

I'm neither here nor there with the 4th movie happening...if its a good movie for what is then great, if its not then thats that.

:thumbsup2 Yeah, what they said. I really enjoyed Barbossa and Jack, so a storyline with just those two sans Will and Elizabeth would rock my world.
