Okay first let me say that had we not discovered a crack in our home's foundation...this wouldn't be an issue but fixing that put us behind a bit in our Disney payments. Now here is my questions, our total trip costs about 5200, we still have 1400 to pay which I will be able to on March 13th but our 45 day date is the 9th. Will they really cancel my reservation? Also I thought maybe I would just call and switch it to a room only reservation, then we would be paid in full, then call back 4 days later and add the tickets....any advice:confused3
Also I did book through AAA if that makes any difference

Call Disney or your travel agent and see if you can work out some sort of extension. I don't have any personal experience here, but I'm sure they will at least attempt to accommodate you within reason. They want your business now, and in the future.

In these kinds of situations, communication is your friend. Call as soon as possible and at least have them make a note on your account.

I had a similiar situation and I explained everything to the cm and they checked with their supervisor and told me it would be ok. Just call and hopefully you will get an understanding CM like I did! Good Luck and sorry about the set back.:sad2:

Moving this one over to the Resorts & Booking board.

Thanks!

Knox

they will NOT cancel your trip...you have it almost paid for. This happened to me last year and they said all they do is send out a letter telling you that your payment is due as long as you have paid for your deposit they are not going to cancel someones vacation, dont worry about it and pay when you get the money.

I believe they send you a letter first saying that payment is overdue and they will give you up to 30 days before your trip, so I believe they will extend it by 15 days- good luck!

What has to be paid at 45 days before the trip? Is it the whole balance?

yup the whole thing, when you book a package deal you have to pay $200 up front and the balance 45 days prior

Last year when we booked our trip I went through a TA, my first time and was the a problem, poor communication. Anyway, I was two days away from final payment, calling and emailing my TA, with no response. She apoligized and advised that she contacted disney and I had a 10 day extension to pay. Which worked out better for me.

I am sure Disney will work with you, especially since you have paid a majority of it.

One trip I called and got a 5 day extension without any problem.

Yes don't worry. They already have most of their money and they won't cancel it with money on the package unless you get really close to the departure date. Since it looks like it's just a few days difference you should be fine!

Why not just use a CC, or Amex? Pay it off tomorrow or next week.

Even if you are an anti-CC type using a CC for large purchases is always a good idea due to the protections offered and the points you can rack up for flights and stuff. I bought a 32" LCD TV last month using Circuit city gift cards I traded my CC points for...

No reason to let free stuff go.

This is what I would do as well, if you have a cc that you can use. Not everyone has a cc.

OP, I see that your TA was able to call for you, and I'm glad it's going to work out!

Thanks everyone. I called my TA today, she called Disney and said everything would be okay:thumbsup2

I don't know how long ago you booked, but before paying final payment just make sure that your TA has also checked/modified your res to see if any of the codes apply to your res :goodvibes

For example the "Free Park Hopping and Water Park Fun & More"

This offer includes FREE Park Hopping and Water Park Fun included with your theme park admission when you book a Magic Your Way package at a Disney Resort for travel from 3/30 - 5/21.

GENERAL PUBLIC OFFER Booking Codes:
APV - Magic Your Way Package
APF - Magic Your Way Plus Dining
APH - Magic Your Way Plus Deluxe Dining
