Not a great week

As I posted the middle of last week I am back to recover from a regain. I set my weigh ins for Wednesday morning because this is the day I can actually get into the bathroom first and not have someone waiting for me to get out in 3 minutes! And that keeps me from obsessing over day to day pulses!

But when I stepped onto the scale this morning it showed I had GAINED 3 pounds from last week! Prior to that it was starting to slide back down - not a lot but some. Even though it wasn't 100% this past week, the exercise levels were closer to full and my eating was pretty much on plan, except for Sunday evening when we had guests for dinner (I splurged on a teeny tiny piece of cherry pie and a glass of wine). I could see not losing but gaining?!?!?!

Ok, thanks for letting me vent. Just did my morning walk, have my water open and will keep at it this week.

BTW-maybe I'm missing a change in the way this board is working but isn't there a weekly weigh in thread anymore?

Deb-I'm sending you a  this morning. Sometimes there are other things that could have an effect on your WI. Maybe you had more sodium intake than you thought. Please don't let this get you discouraged. I have found that if I get down, it is so much harder to pick it back up again. I am sending you :wizard: PD for a wonderful day. I know you can do this and you need to have some positive thoughts going on and don't think in a negative way. This is just one week. Today is a new day and that is what you need to focus on. I'm not just talking to be talking, I have been there and know exactly how you feel. I have had to learn to not get upset or discouraged because it just sends me into a tail spin.

OK, here's for a new day. I'm cheering :cheer2: for you today!!!

Deb - Hang in there. It could be water levels for many reasons. If you haven't been excersing as much or as hard lately, your body could be storing extra water, thinking you're in a crisis mode. There are way too many factors to be down about it now. Also, you may want to take measurements to see if you're losing inches.

Here are a few suggested exercises if you're looking for some options ;)

And 1 and 2 and 3 and 4, again...

On the weigh ins..sometimes there are challenges out there (Lose 5 in February, Valentine's Challenge, St. Paddy's Challenge) and with so many joining one or several the weekly weigh ins may be missing because it's too cumbersome to post to many threads your weigh ins. But I'm sure there are folks who do not join the challenges and would like a weigh in thread...so feel free to start a Weigh in Thread on Wednesdays and you'll find people posting.

Scales are tricky...keep in your mind...eat right/exercise/drink my water and the scales may be good/bad but you will be losing inches!! I weigh one pound more than last week..TOM..cheat with strawberry cake...but I have upped my exercise and my clothes fit looser than when I was one pound down a week ago....so don't let the numbers trip you up...a measuring tape is always a good thing to keep and record! :)

You'll knock this week out!!!

Thanks guys - I knew I'd get that needed pick up. I'm not really down or depressed since I watched those ups and downs on the original journey. Just venting...and looking for those encouragements out there which make this board so terrific!

Good for you for not letting this get you down. You are right that this is a journey to continuemaking healthy choices. Kepp on keepin' on. You know it will get better!
I love the "alternative options" suggested.
