some questions? I am a newly registered member to the DIS boards, but have been reading them for a long time, and now as I am planning my 3rd family trip and thinking of trying to rent points for a villa I have some questions and would appreciate input from anyone who is willing. We are planning to head back to the world in Oct of '08 and are hoping to rent a studio at either the BC,BW. or the WL for 6-7 nites. I was wondering how far in advance I should try and get the ball rolling. I was also wondering about tickets, can we buy them ourselves or do we have to buy them with the room like the dining package has to be, and also if this is a hard time to try and rent, we are looking at the we are looking at Oct. 11 or 12-18 if we can get it. I would someday love to buy into the DVC, but DH is going to take some convincing and hopefully this will be a start! Thank you in advance to anyone who has anything to offer...:goodvibes

I would start 11 months out especially if WL is your 1st choice. I believe it is the smallest DVC (correct me fellow dvc'ers if I'm wrong) so some times it's hard to get into, October is not a exceedingly busky time but you never know. You can cruise the rent forum to get some idea. Tickets are not part of the deal and you can find a few internet vendors that are very reputable. We have use mapleleaftickets.com for our tickets, they are slightly cheaper than the wdw site.

Actually, it will be VERY busy for the BWV and BCV resorts. The Food & Wine Fest starts the beginning of October and the Epcot area resorts fill up fast because of the walk in, walk out ease.

Since you are planning for 2008, though, you are in good shape. You really need to find a DVC member who "owns" at BWV or BCV so they can get the 11 month booking window. By the 7 month window (when reservations open to all members) the rooms will be MUCH harder to get. Start about 12 months out and get your arrangements lined up with an owner.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate the heads up about the food and wine fest I hadn't even thought about that, I am hoping for WL but I have heard that it will be hard to get. I will definetly get things together and put my formal request in at the year mark and hopefully we will get lucky.

It appears as though October is becoming increasingly more popular. You will want to start posting on the DVC rent/trade boards about the 11.5 month timeframe and you should have no problems. You can go on those boards now and see the difficulty some are having trying to get their desired dates at the 7 month window. It can be very difficult because there will only be limited availibilty that late. :thumbsup2 You can purchase your tickets wherever you desire. You may review this site, their prices are shipping included.:thumbsup2
