Hello
This is my first time on this website and it seems wonderful. I am getting married in January of 2005 but not at WDW (just our honeymoon is there) and I am trying to plan and make reservations now. A few questions..
1. Is the romance package worth getting (we are planning on doing the Ciruqe and maybe the carriage ride)?
2. What is the best hotel for newlyweds?
3. Even if I do not get married there is there any way that I can get a little individual wedding cake that I can split with my FI?
4. What is the best and cheapest way to get hotel reservations, tickets, and plane tickets?
5. How can I get quotes on different resorts easily and for 2005?
6. What "perks" go along with wearing the wedding ears?
any other helpful hints would really really help!

Thanks a bunch!

I'm in the same boat as you, although getting married in June. I just contacted dreams unlimited travel, and got a quote for $1864 for the Dream Maker-Romance package for 6/5/05-6/10/05 at the CBR. Sounds like a good deal to me, but I don't really know where else to look to see about getting it cheaper.

Let's see..I hear Grand Floridian is an awesome place for a honeymoon, also good stuff on POR. Me, I am going to the Boardwalk but we wanted a central location because we only get 2 full days and 2 half days.

As for hotel and tix.etc.. The actual Walt Disney World website is good for reservations at a resort, they also do plane tickets and car rentals I believe.

As for the rest I am not really sure.

I don't know how much this helps but I have looked at Expedia in the last couple of days and they do list all the Disney hotels but when I looked it said there were no rooms available at any of the resorts for the end of May. However, I think this is because maybe Expedia does not have access that far in ahead for Expedia. It's worth a try though. Also, the airline, Air-Tran has a section called "Vacations" which looks very much look Expedia. At that section of the airline's website not only can you book your flights but book to stay at the Disney hotels as well, and from what I remember they were good prices. Hope this helps a little

dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

check them out. There is a 200.00 deposit for packages, but they will check for deals for you up until the day of your stay and will get you the cheapest possible package. Also, they will book all of your dinner reservations, etc. I am working with them and they are wonderful. They will send you updates all of the time letting you know what is going on.

About the cake, yes, you can get one. You have to call the bakery at disney. I don't know how much it will be, but here is a link for a disney phone book http://www.themeparks.com/wdw/wdwphone.htm
someone in an old post had a link to the bakery site, but I don't have it saved.
My biggest suggestion is to think of a key word-for example "ears" if you wanted to know about the perks for mouse ears. Then, go to the bottom of the screen when you are on the page that shows all the topics and there is a search box to search the disney wedding forum. type in ears and all the posts that have ever been made about it will come up.
This has helped me tremendously!!! There is a lot of information out there in the archives that does not show up on the main boards.

Welcome to the DIS and congrats on your forthcoming wedding and your honeymoon at WDW.

I'd like to help you with a couple of your questions:

Q.2. I think out of the Deluxes - Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge are the most romantic. Out of the moderates - I'd go with Port Orleans - Riverside or Caribbean Beach Resort.

Q.4. & 5. Another vote for Dreams Unlimited - I have used these for my Room only reservations in the past - and they have always been very competitive and extremley helpful - they'll even make Priority Seatings at restuarants for you and put together itineraries. They'll also give you as many free quotes as you need and they'll look out for discount codes to apply to your reservation where appropriate.

Q.6 Basically as harsh as it sounds there aren't any perks associated with wearing wedding ears. I say this only to manage expectations however wearing them has given a lot of Disney Magic to a number of past Disney Brides and Honeymooners alike. It's all about being in the right place at the right time with the right Cast Member - it can mean: free upgrades, free desserts with meals, riding without any other parties on some rides or even the best table in the "house" but please remember that no CM HAS to shower you with these perks.

Hope that helps for now :)

Wow
thank you all for your help. I feel like now I can tackle this a lot better. I guess that I should have been more specific about my "perks" question. I want to wear the ears just for fun but I fear that my FI would be a little shy so if the perks might possibly be singing and a lot of attention on us then he may not want that. Was it just small things like desserts and congrats or was there anything that might drive a shy person crazy?
