I was just making all the arrangements here for our new house and was amazed to find out that trash pick up here is $400/ year.
Granted its for unlimited pick up. ( you can put out as much as you want) but I thought that seemed really high!

Is that about right or do you have a btter/worse deal where you are?
Sorry for being nosey, I guess I dont know what to expect for this lol.

Nothing. That is nothing more than what we pay in property tax. We also have unlimited pick up. They recently took a large dresser and night stand. The appliance recycling is the same. We have two trash and recycle pickups a week in the summer and once a week the rest of the year.

Nothing here either, with unlimited pickup. The only thing we pay the Village for is water.

$132.00 a year - but we don't have the big items pick-up (furniture, washers, etc.) and I believe we are limited to 2 trashcans a week.

Ours is $96 per quarter or $384 per year. This is through Waste Management. Our town doesn't offer pickup.

Ours is integrated into our city tax. I have no idea how much is for trash pickup.

Our trash removal is also included in our taxes. Let me see if it's on my tax bill.....nope.

Unfortunately, there's NO pickup in our town. The "snobs-that-be" do NOT wish to have trash barrels placed in front of homes. We therefore have to transport our trash to a recycling center on our own

Ours is $14.00 a month. This includes recycling (sp)?
Our city decided to use these new blue containers. They have trucks that automatically load the trash into the truck.
Once that container is full, we have to put a tag on any additional trash bags, and that is $1.50 per bag.

I am sure it will go up again before the end of the year.

Wow EROS! No garbage pick up in Boston!!!! You don't strike me as the type of person that would choose to live in a snobby place.

Ours is about $50 per quarter, I think.

Tedsmom, we live in a suburb of Boston. I'm the anti-snob/agitator of our town.............................just like my role on the DIS;) :jester: ;) :jester: ..........

We haul our own but several neighbors pay $125.00 a year, and the service picks up once a week. It's a privately owned service (the county doesn't provide it) and there are several "haulers" to choose from in the area.

They will not remove large items like old fridges, dressers, mattresses etc.

We pay $42 every 3 months... This includes all bags and recycling, no furniture or appliances and they come up to our house... It would be cheaper if we put it by the road but not enough for convenience sake!

In w/taxes and it's crazy but recyling is 1.oo a month. :D

No charge here...It is all included in taxes...which are very low here.

Ours in included in the taxes. Everyone uses the same type of container ( not sure the cost of that, ours came with our house) and if we have more garbage than that we have to put it out in specific bags that can be purchased at the grocery store. Large items aren't a problem - we just need to call and let them know it will be there.
