Norwegian Air -- UPDATED WITH INFO (incl baggage dimensions)

Even better! On Norwegian.com or .no? I haven't gone all the way through booking on .no so I was unaware they had a USD option. I did notice their prices on .mo were much better than the same flights on their US site. For example, I just looked up flights on May 29 2017 for a one way from CPH to BOS - .no had the LowFare+ at 1678 NOK or $207 at today's exchange rate. .com US site had the prices at $262 for the same flight.

Yes, directly on their site. Up in the right hand corner is the option for USD. I paid $219 one-way from Newark to Barcelona, non-stop.

Just wanted to throw in my $.02, I flew Norwegian from JFK-London and it was fabulous. The plane was clean, the staff was friendly and the seats had plenty of space and lots of room for luggage. I was pleasantly impressed and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Thanks! I am very excited about trying this new line and have read lots of good stuff. I'm a little nervous about having the emergency exit seat and not having room in the overhead for our carryons, but we are the first row in the economy cabin, which will be really nice as we are always at the back of the plane.

I'm jealous! I want to try Norwegian as I've heard great things too.

I ended up booking Virgin Atlantic due to times. The nonstop from London doesn't arrive in NYC until after 8 PM and I didn't want to spend the night.

I'll definitely try to fly them again.

But did you price it in Norwegian Kroner? Every trip I've priced using Norwegian.no has been a couple hundred cheaper than booking through the US site.

The website won't let me pick a different currency than USD :confused3

Timing really the top priority, sometime even more than costs in some circumstances. I ended up picking Norwegian because (1) they flew out of Newark instead of JFK and (2) they had a direct flight, which made all the difference for us.

Hey. So I don't normally post here in this forum but I saw the thread and I had to stop in. Dad flew Norwegian Air back in August from London to Los Angeles and back because he needed a last minute booking. Just a heads up, he wasn't overly impressed with the food quality. Meals were served in a cardboard box and he said he wished he had brought something with him.

Not saying don't get the meals. But maybe remember to bring some decent food with you if your flying Norwegian just in case.

Though he does say that he thought the flight was good value. He just wasn't that impressed with the food.

You have to book on Norwegian.no instead of .com. That way you're booking directly from their main center in Norway. Pay with a CC (with no foreign transaction fee) and your price in Kroner will be converted to USDs. It will be cheaper booked this way.

Thanks. That is the one negative I have read overall. But with a flight at 11 p.m., I figure I won't want much to eat and whatever they serve for breakfast will get us through, plus I always pack granola bars and munchies. The only other "negative" I read is that because they are new, they really only have one plane for each flight available. So if our plane get delayed or has problems, they don't have a back-up flight. But maybe by next year they will have added more planes.

I looked at that site, but the point is really moot for me because I've already booked everything.

Yes, this is what I was talking about.

Norwegian is weird on releasing premium pricing. They released every other option for my flights but premium (which is of course what I wanted to book) but because of that and the bad arrival time to NYC, I went Virgin America.

Norwegian has a direct 10 hour flight from Copenhagen to Las Vegas which is a tiny short flight from us in Idaho, so I think I'm going with that one. I will look at Virgin though, because I do appreciate their service.

I got Virgin Atlantic for a steal... RT non stop BOS-LHR for $600, then added another $100 for extended leg room. In 2015 I paid $1100 per person for Copenhagen

I thought the price was a fluke... but I jumped on it. Didn't take 20 minutes to think about it.

We just flew Norwegian in September one way from Orlando to Barcelona (connected through London Gatwick). Overall it was a good experience. We booked premium economy since hubby is 6'4" and booked our 23 month old his own seat. The flight from Orlando to London was great! Flight was on time, premium economy seats were comfortable, entertainment console worked well, food was pretty good and everything included. Flight from London to BCN was another story. Flight was late (they told everyone after we had already checked in and were in a small holding zone with not enough chairs) and then after we all boarded we had to wait on the plane for 30 minutes because we didn't have departure spot due to the late boarding. This wouldn't have been a big issue if we were in a premium economy seat but that flight had economy only and seat sizes are horrible. Hubby was crammed into the aisle seat with knees into the seat in front of him. I'm 5'6" and was extremely uncomfortable too. We fly Southwest with no comfort problems for comparison. The icing on the poor service cake was they gave me a hard time about my son's car seat. We purchased him a seat, he's under 2yr old = must be in a FAA approved seat. We had no problems on the first flight, just the second. We took our own drinks and snacks so we didn't worry about all the purchase options.
We would fly them again but only in premium economy, well worth the money especially when booking with short notice.

That's what happened to us last year when I finally booked British Air to London. I checked for months and all of a sudden one Sunday morning the round-trip prices came up at $800 each -- $500 less than I'd been seeing. I couldn't get my fingers to work fast enough to grab them because I knew that this had to be a fluke and they would correct it. Sure enough, a couple of hours later they were back at the original price. We were very lucky.

RedSox68, you are putting up quite the convincing argument to book Norwegian Air! :) I am leaning towards this airline, especially since the departure from EWR is 11 pm so we don't have to take another day off from work to get to the airport. I figure the money we save by flying Low Fare+ will more than cover an extra night at our hotel. I was reading a 2016 WBTA trip report, and that person has put the bug in my head to visit Disneyland Paris before the cruise. Decisions...decisions.....
