It appears the list of airlines participating in the Resort Airline Check-in Service has grown by one.

According to Disney's Magical Express FAQ for Meeting Planners at http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/dwm/services/detail?name=DMEPlannerFAQDetailPage

Q: What is the Resort Airline Check-in Service?

A: This service allows Guests to check luggage and receive airline boarding passes at their Disney Resort. At this time, remote check-in service is only available for guests flying domestically on the following airlines: American, Continental, Delta (including Song), United (including Ted),
and Northwest. Additional airlines may be added at a later date.

Hurray for NWA! (or as my Minnesotan friends refer to the airline: Northworst). So apparently there is now a reason to fly NWA instead of one of the few cheaper flights out of MSP, or DTW for that matter. Don't they also have a hub in Memphis?

Hmmmm....well I am torn now...I was going to get our regular rental car, but now I am very torn...

Magic Express sounds like a great idea but I am still renting a car. I got a great rate for a car, $100 per week for the two weeks I will be there. I like to go to the outlet stores at least 2 times a week to check on the new merchandise and we like a few of the off property restaraunts.
So unless I can't find a good car rental rate I will skip the Magic Express.
I am having my boys use the service because they are arriving the day after me and it will make it easier for me to not have to meet them at the airport at 10 am in the morning. Peggie

So exactly how does Magical Express work? I guess I'll be eligible as we're flying Continental operated by Northwest.

Me, too. I think I will still reserve a car as soon as I book the air (we're not going until December), but if the feedback on ME is mostly positive, I'll be giving it a try. The only real downside for us will be lack of a grocery stop. Oh well, guess we'll just have to "save" more by using our DDE card, :teeth:

As DVC members who always stay in a 1BR or 2BR with a full kitchen, we like to stock our fridge with breakfast for entire stay and with beverages and snacks. So, not having a towncar grocery stop or the ability to drive a rental car to Publix was, a first glance, a major downside.

But there is an alternative. People on this board have written all sorts of good things about a grocery shopping service, WeGoShop.com. You fax or e-mail your shopping list to them ahead of time. They deliver to your room. You pay the actual cash register total plus a surprisingly modest service charge.

Thank you. Will have to seriously consider this option.

Best wishes -

Carol--

We used wegoshop.com last December because we were arriving in the evening and I didn't want to take the time to get groceries with potentially cranky kids and their dad.

Very prompt service, very friendly, delivered right to our room. I felt terrible because the flight was late and we were later than expected at BCVs, but Eric from wegoshop was so accomodating and friendly. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

They will shop wherever you want them to go too. I had them go to SuperTarget because I know the prices there. But they will go wherever.

 :cheer2:  Color me happy! I just booked our NWA flight for October, and was bummed that NWA wasn't participating in ME. I live in Detroit, so flying another airline wouldn't be very smart for me (NWA is slightly cheaper than all others, and they have a non-stop, which no other airlines did). Now I have even MORE reason to be excited about my trip! Woo hoo!! Thanks for the update!

:sad1: For the first time we are not flying Northwest out of Detroit. Spirit has NW beat on both of our trips by at least $100 per person.

Steph, Spirit flys nonstop out of Detroit also. I got my August tickets from Spirit rountrip for $130 & December tickets for $170. The times are good also. Spirit has I believe 4 nonstop times from DTW 7am, 11am, 2pm & 7pm (I think).

This is great news! :cool1:

We're booked on NWA for our July Magical WDW Birthday Gathering trip. Now I have one less worry with my #1 choice of airlines. First great fares and now this! Wohoooooooo!

The only thing you won't be able to do is check-in for your return flight at your resort. You can still have them take your luggage from MCO to WDW, ride the bus to WDW and ride the bus back to MCO. Once you're departing MCO, you'll have to check-in at the airport.

you know if you feel you must rent a car for some of the time you are down there whay dont you just do it onsite?

 Rock on! My best friend and I are flying Northwest, when we go to Disney World this Sept. I really do not care for Northwest, but they had the best price at the time of when I got our tickets and now hearing that they are a part of Disney's Magical Express makes me very happy! Now I just have to have my best friend call our resort back and set it up.

I am on the phone right now w/ Disney--the cast member is telling me that Northwest is not on their list. He has me on hold right now and is checking--even though I gave him the website and where the info is found. HE is saying this may be for business travelers only. I will update when I get more info....

**small update** The castmember told me to email Disney for further info but is stating that Northwest is not on their list of participating airlines. I have emailed and am waiting for a reply.
