I just realized that the the trip to POFQ that I booked tickets for a few days ago is on the weekend of my mother's 80th birthday party. I absolutely have to be there for her. Does anyone know how much Northwest charges to change a reservation?
TIA!

I think its $50 a ticket PLUS any fare increase.. So if your fare isn't still for sale on your new flights it can be steep.

Thanks. I was/am hoping that it won't be more than $100 per ticket plus the difference in fares. No matter how much the change fee is, it will be worth it. She's been a pretty good mom!

Most likely your change fee will be $100. The change fee depends on the code your fare was booked at. In most cases, it's a $100 to change, plus any fare difference, of course.

Changes fees do vary even within airlines. The very deepest discounts have 100% pentalties (I got hit with that once :faint: ), some are 50% penalties, and then you have specific dollar amounts, typically $50.

I'm pretty sure NW has a set amount depending on the fare code. I don't think you will be penalized more than $100. However, if a there is a big difference in the cost of the fare - that could add up, of course.

Interesting. Looks like NWA doesn't do the % penalties. However, this fare I just brought up was $100 change fee PER TICKET.

Thanks for the input. Mom is worth waaaaaay more than 200 bucks. I just checked and the dates I want to change to are about $30 less for RT fares. I'm hoping that it will be $100-30 so $70 per ticket. Wish me luck!

We changed our flights and the price had gone down so we only ended up paying $40 to change both tickets total.
