Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

I worked a double departure today! Both the Wonder and the Magic left Port Canaveral today! Quite an interesting morning! They all seemed pretty satisfied, but they WERE resort guests, not dirvers or people who flew in just for the cruise. Those people had to go to EPCOT to make accommodation arrangements. The DCL staff were there until 1am!!!
Glad I'm not management!

I've been away from the boards for awhile and missed what happened to the Wonder and the extra day in CC. So what's the info?

The Magic had the extra day in CC. There was gale force winds and they couldn't depart from CC on Friday, so they left out yesterday.

Oslo - Viking Pirate Cruise; there were two times offered. I picked the 9:30 am, I think it gets back around 12:15 and then there was a second one at 12:30 pm.

Thanks for the times on your excursions. Quick question, what is the "viking pirate cruise"? I don't see that as an excursion on DCL's site, but I may have missed something. Thanks.

Was a decision ever made about a group dinner on the night of the 11th for those of us in Dover? If so any suggestions on where to go?

I didn't see this one either, maybe it has been added.

I suggested it... I would love to meet up. My B&B owner sent me a list of suggested restaurants. The list is at work, so I will look it over on Tuesday and send out some suggestions!

ETA...Thought I quoted Gydell's post ... talking about dinner in Dover on the 11th!

I've never participated with the Fish Extenders and am looking forward to making one for our door! I'm already looking out for small gift items but I was wondering do I plan on buying enough items for each room, or for each person etc. Also how do you make sure you have enough items? Is there a date that is similar to the Secret Mickey cutoff? Sorry if these questions have already been covered, I'm just getting excited and don't want to mess this up!

Thanks,
Marianne

Oh also, how do I get the cool Inagural Baltic Cruise design?

Thanks again!

I am offering a huge discount on this excirsion and the virtual Disney Dream combo deal....:rotfl2:
Then sign my group up!

As far as the FE you can give to each person or to each room. I think most people do it by the room. I don't know of a cut off date but we have had one on a couple of past cruises I have taken. And you CAN"T mess it up - just have fun!
As far as the logo I will leave that answer to someone that can really help since I have to be walked through it every time.

  1. Click your right mouse button over the logo in MJGirls post above yours.
  2. In the menu that pops up select "Save picture as" and save it to somewhere on your PC where you know you can find it again.
  3. Sign up for an account at Photobucket.
  4. Upload the logo that you saved in step 2 to your Photobucket account.
  5. From the list of links to your image select the one that starts

[*]On this site go to edit your signature and paste in the code that you just copied and voila. :)
    [/LIST]

That's the generalised version but if you need any more detail just shout. :goodvibes

On another topic - we got our letter from DCL today confirming our $100 per person onboard credit for booking early so, together with the $600 from DU we now have $800 in the pot to start with. :cheer2: :yay:

I figured I'd come over & say hi since it's been so long since I came to visit!

Hope everyone is well - I want to go back and read everything...maybe tomorrow :)

I've been thinking alot about this cruise & you guys - mostly cuz I just booked the EBTA about 1 week ago....took advantage of the great cat 12 deal ($699 base for the 14 nights). Jackie (ibouncetoo) & her ex-sisterinlaw are going with me (we're praying for an upgrade :lmao:).

We're going from Barcelona to London for a few days....must visit some of our UK DIS friends & see a show (or 2) ;)

Wanted to remind people about the recommendations that are on my blog for the tours & transportation that I used last year (can't believe it's been 10 months already :scared1:).
I did see the other trip report---have that saved now to read (hopefully tomorrow too).

Hi Monica!!!! I'm glad you guys were able to take advantage of the EBTA deal. I know you guys will have a great time on the cruise and in London. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Hi Linda,

If you do the Disney Dream excursion, then the next Sea Day you have to set aside time to regal the rest of us with what we missed! PLEASE :worship: :worship:

Also, looks like we'll see you at Brunch first sea day.

What happened to the side car adventure??? :rotfl2:

Bob & Dale (& Gordy, who wanted to stow away on the sidecar but can't find his goggles)

Paid off that cruise this morning (didn't use DVC on the 1st one) and booked the Lisbon Sidecar adventure this morning. It is from 9 am to 2 pm.

Yes, I didn't see it originally offered either, just noticed it when I booked excursions. Here is what it says:

Meet a friendly band of pirates and take an approximate 20 minute walk to their ship . It includes approx. 1 mile of walking at a leisurely pace over flat terrain. Guests must be able to ascend and descend the Viking ship's gangway. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Be introduced to the King of Vika who will ask for your full attention. Actors, action, excitement and fun for guests of all ages will follow on your 2 hour cruise aboard a traditional wooden schooner.

Discover the Oslo Fjord as you pass by the new opera house, the museum-dotted peninsula Bygdoy and many small islands.

Enjoy a complimentary beverage and pastry as you sit back and relax to view the beautiful norwegian scenery.

Arrive back at the dock and take an approximate 10 minute walk back to the ship or choose to walk into town to enjoy sightseeing and shopping and return to the ship on your own.

Cost is $115 for adults and $105 for kids. We did the 9:30 - 12:15 figuring we would shop afterwards. There was another one at 12:30 I think but didn't give you shopping time afterwards as we leave Oslo at 4:30 p.m.

Hope that helps.

Does anyone know what they will be doing on the ship while in the Baltic? On the past cruises there has always been a Pirates of the Caribbean night. And has anyone rented the tux from the ship for formal night? We are wondering if that would be easier than packing a suit?

Thanks!

Marianne

My sister sent me some info since she knew I was going to London after the cruise and she knows what a huge Phantom of the Opera fan I am.

Here's what she sent me:

A sequel to The Phantom of the Operawritten by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Opens in London next year. ( the stage play - not the movie)

The plot takes place on Coney Island in 1906, approximately a decade after the events of The Phantom of the Opera. The Phantom has travelled to Coney Island with Madame Giry and her daughter Meg. Beginning his new life in America as a freakshow attraction, he has worked his way up to a position of power and is now the successful architect of a number of Coney Island attractions. Despite his newfound wealth and success he still longs for Christine and manages to arrange for her to come and sing at one of his latest attractions. Christine arrives at Coney Island along with Raoul and their son Gustave, unknowingly returning to the man she feared most.[8]

Linda - Jackie, Pam & I have tickets for the 24th of April so I can give you a review when we get back. Can't wait!
