Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Prices for shore trips are up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang it....not for the signature collection yet...I got all excited for no reason at all.

But just maybe the signature collection is close behind!

I flew in and out of Gatwick.
I had a great trip. Confirmed that staying at the Gatwick Hilton was the Virgil

What airline did you fly with? Yes, we have stayed at the Gatwick Hilton....a few years ago when we wanted to visit Brighton, but there was a convention there and all the hotels that had handicapped facilities were booked. We just took the train into town.....and to London! So easy

Decisions decisions!

Looking at the DCL excursions for St Petersburg:

I am assuming that the City Highlights and Hermitage are on the second day there.

The Evening with the Princesses at Catherines Palace... is that on night 1 or night 2? And is it the same time as the Russian Ballet?

Not sure what to do there since I don't know which days have which excursions.

Oslo looks like we will do on our own. Helsinki we are going to visit Santa :santa: Still deciding on the others.

What does everyone else think?

Looking at the prices and comparing it with DIY I think they are very expensive. For example the Norwegian Explorers converts to 430KR when you can buy the Oslo Pass and do it yourself for 230KR.

Having said that I am considering the Helsinki Highlights and Finnish Food-Tasting. It would be useful to have departure times for the evening excursions in St Petersburg as well.

Hi all, My biggest surprise was the cost the Disney experience at the Palace. Second, the price of Cultural Berlin.

SPB tours, a private company offering tours in St. Petersburg and Berlin, is highly recommended on both cruise critic and tripadvisor. They offer a private tour from Warnemunde to Berlin for 99Euros per person. The kicker is: you must have a minimum of 20 in your group. They travel by bus to Berlin to see the major sights with a set itinerary. I wonder if we could get a group together of that many? I know there are lots of people going but not a whole lot on the thread. Anybody have ideas?

I think that we'll do the hop on/off busses in the ports that have them.

I bet that we could come up with twenty people. We would probably be interested in being a part of the group.

We're also interested in getting a group together for St Pete. If we get half dozen of us together, we should be able to get the cost down below $300 each for the two-day tour.

OK I know I could call DCL or look at teh web page that is so easy to navigate (not).

When can we book the excursions?? 120 day mark? Don't know why that is stuck in my mind.

Found it in the Castaway Club info 120 days.

Connie, Just found your post on page 84,.... YOU ROCK!!!!!

Thank You Thank You Thank You.

Good Afternoon Cruisers!

Connie, glad to hear that your knee is better after your fall! Thanks for the links (I pointed it out to Scott - he goes thru so fast that he misses stuff!)

We had a great time at WDW, it finally warmed up the last 2 days of our trip! We got home to the same weather we had in Florida!!!

Scott has been looking at the excursions, I think we might do everything on our own except St. Petersburg.

Have a great day all!

Ok, I know the girls here will appreciate this.

We were shopping up in Nashville today and I was looking at formal dresses (wasn't planning on buying anything) at Off Saks.

I found a steal of a dress, a Badgley Mischka, originally $650, got it on clearance for $40!!!! The only thing is the zipper needs to be replaced, but other than that it is in perfect condition.

Definitely bringing this along for formal night.

When I went on to reserve shore excursions, there was a message saying that I couldn't until Feb 12, 2010.

I think we will probably do the same thing, except that
Chuck REALLY wants to go see the new ship. I think we'll do hop on hop off bus trips or walk the other cities.

My wife has been looking at excursions... some of her choices surprise me....LOL.. Thought that this excursion: Berlin with concentration camp looked interesting - as we really wanted to visit a concentration camp.
