Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Good Evening Cruisers!

We are taking an evening off from the Parks, so I thought I would catch up on some of the boards! We finished our races - Scott did the Goofy and I did the half marathon (or the Donald).

Chris called this morning to see when ressies would be open for DLP and FINALLY they were!!:yay:
We are now booked at the Disney New York Hotel for the last part of our trip!
Now we just have to get from Dover to Paris. Working on it!:goodvibes

We found that flying from London to Paris was the cheapest way to get there - we are not going to DLP but are touring Normandy. It is easy to get to DLP from the airport - there is a bus that goes directly to DLP.

When we get home we will look at the excursions - stilll will probably do our own except for St. Petersburg.

.

OH! congratulations on the marathon! It was so COLD!!! We were on the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas for 5 nights....put into Haiti just about a week before the earthquake, although I understand the area RCCL docks was not damaged.

I fell while climbing the falls at Dunn River.....injured my right hamstring and left kneww....spent the last 2 days in a borrowed wheelchair and I have been off of work since....I work on Monday.

I would have rather waited a month to pay it off - but since we're in a suite - they changed it to 150 days out.....

We're in a suite too, it's a 120 days. February 12 will be in no time. I've already been working with the shoreside concierge. I was hoping they would have some prices on the excursions, but they don't have those yet either.

:scared1: Hope you're ok!

We paid our cruise off last April so that's done! Been saving for excursions and ALASKA!!!

Oh Connie, I am so sorry about the fall! I hope you are better soon.

Connie I hope you are getting better!

We have not paid in full yet, but will do that at the beginning of February. Have been reviewing the excursions  It would be nice to have the prices.

Trying to plan the St Petersburg excursions is difficult because you don't know when they are going to take place. I am really interested in the dinner with the characters. That is a signature collection and I am only a lowly silver level. So we shall see if we get it or not.

Eveyone have a great weekend!

I've been talking to shoreside concierge about the St. Petersburg excursions and just about everything I'm interested in is only available on the 2nd day. I really want to do the Peterhof and Pushkin tour, but I want to see the Hermitage as well and all of those tours take place on the 2nd day. Plus, nothing else can be done with the Peterhof tour since it's 9 hours long.

Well the Races are done time get serious about this trip

Have a good trip!

We got back from Huntsville last night. We had lunch with Emily and her family. They are great! Today I am planning on booking our tour to Stonehenge.

We had a great time with you all as well!!!! Hope the rain here didn't put too much of a damper on things.

I've been looking at shore excursions all weekend and still trying to make up my mind on some places. I've decided on Copenhagen and Helsinki, up for final family approval of course. Everywhere else...:confused3

Some of the shore excursions for the Northern European cruises are truly amazing!!! I was wondering what all of you would suggest wearing to the Royal Ball? The description says "Dress code: This event, which is not a formal affair, does not stipulate a dress code; however, elegant yet comfortable evening attire is suggested, as well as flat, comfortable shoes."

So if I understand that right...then my husband doesn't need a tux and I wouldn't need an evening gown. But am I wrong? So suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Who are you booking your Stongehenge trip? We want to plan a day trip there also and I have not figured out which tour company to use. Thanks.

Maybe a pair of dress pants with fancy shirt or nice dress. The men maybe dress pants with shirt and tie.:confused3We looked at that also but decided since we will be seeing it during the day we would do something else.

We like the 16 people max.

Thanks everybody for your support about my fall....it was really stupid. The rocks weren't slippery, I just jigged when I should have jogged!:dance3:

I am fine now. Can't wait to book some excursions....gotta get Chuck pinned down to a few. Connie

This is borrowed this from cruisecritic. This guy lives in Germany and is full of so much info on the Warnemunde area and other areas in Germany. His pictures are very detailed with information and gives very specific instructions or walking, biking or going by train.
There are several links on the right hand side to click on for more info.

If anyone has any questions that can't be found on his site I'm sure you could go over to cruisecritic on the European boards and ask him directly

From Barb (Jilljill): Train, coach or private transfers.

Easiest place to catch the train or coach is Victoria Station, but there are a couple of other connection options in the city. There are many private transfers available but can be outrageous due to the distance, about 2 hours.
Last summer we used the National Express Coach and it was around $60 for the 3 of us one way. Had I booked it sooner it would have been cheaper. Will definately book it at 12 weeks out for this cruise.

I've found some links for transfers:
