Northern Lights

This is high on my bucket list. Whenever there is even a hint that we might be able to see them where I live I drive to a dark spot by the lake but no luck yet.

Love it!
Thank you for sharing this!
Like others said - this is high on my bucket list to see with my own eyes.

We went to Iceland in August 2021, and I knew the chances of seeing them there would be slim since it's summer there, but we lucked out and saw them from the plane flying over Newfoundland in the middle of the night. So glad I wasn't able to sleep and got to see them!

I saw them on a Norway/Iceland cruise.....very nice. Just sat out on an upper deck with a lot of other people and one of the information people narrated through it.
Then it got too cold.
I would like to see them again

We have been to Iceland but no luck seeing them. Going to try again later this year. My BFF slept in an igloo in the tip of Norway for 3 nights in the dead of winter and didn't see them either. It truly is the luck of the draw.

Anybody see them last night? I've seen some great pictures from International Falls and Granby, MN. My wife went out and saw them for the first time at our house in east central WI. We are pretty much exactly on the 44th parallel, rarely does the Aurora come this far south.

Supposedly they were quite visible from my city last night but I didn't know. Tonight as well so maybe I will check them out.

About what time? We're in Manitoba.

I saw pictures at 2130 CDT from about 20 miles north of my house. My wife and MIL went out at 2230 and were watching them until 0015.

Thanks. Supposed to be active tonight. I'm going to see if I can see them depending on cloud cover.

Last night's show was spectacular. I wish I'd decided to coffee up and head out with my camera, because a lot of my aurora chasing friends say it was the best they've ever seen in our neck of the woods. But it has been a really active year so hopefully there will be more chances soon.

I took this one about a month ago, on the first night I've ever experienced lights that were visible to the naked eye (though faintly) in lower Michigan.
