North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

Well, this comment leads me to belive that the 'appointment' time you make can impact when you are allowed to BOARD. I wonder if they are doing this instead of the boarding numbers, or as a way to allocate boarding numbers? It sure would 'encourage' people to do on-line check in!

.

I was concerned about the same thing. I completed the online check in back in the beginning of Jan. so I did not realize online check in had been upgraded/changed. I spoke with DCL today since the website was not cooperating due to be B2B. The DCL rep stated the reason for the question on arrival time at port was asked simply to insure proper staffing. Boarding numbers will be provided after you have checked in with your documents. This is suppose to speed the process we shall see. :)

We are participating. Actually we already have our gifts bought and packed :)

Hopefully we will still be able to make this and the Repo cruise. The end of August my dad had a stroke and has been in rehab at a nursing home since the end of September (there was a short stint at home but ended up back in the hospital). He is doing much better, but has to stay a bit longer at the nursing facility (but the insurance company doesn't think so:confused3) The timing may be that he would need to come home around beginning of April, which puts the trip in jeopardy.

So some positive thinking is taking place around here :)

We have to make this cruise! The FE gifts are already bought!

Debbie

Debbie - it will be good to see you!!! How long has it been??? years I think!

Disney is saving me tons of money by not letting me stack excursions...how far apart are these things supposed to be? Seems over an hour should be fine...
oh - never worry - on the Baltic I set a record....5 excursions in 2 days...the staff were amazing! If you are willing to RUN (and I mean RUN) you can do them, you can't book this type of set up online, because the system wants 2 or 3 hours between excursions. However, once on board, you can go to port adventures and talk to them. If it is even possible, they will make it happen! Good luck!!

Here is who I have for participating in the FE. Who else wants to join?!?!

Padalyn (Cayla cruise with non diser Michael a good friend) platinum members and in a 6a gty - will advise the room number when we get it!

Well, I got all worried about the check in times. The DCL site was slooowwww, but when I got to check in it said:

"Since your travel party includes Platinum or Concierge Guests, you are not required to select an arrival time. You may arrive any time during embarkation hours and board the ship at your leisure after check-in."

good news, we can still get up before sunrise......
I saw that....made me a little nervous...then realized I will already be onboard...whew!

Is anyone doing the mexican riviera before the repo??? PM me if you are please!

I have an interesting challenge that I guess I will call DCL about. We can not completely finish our on-line booking without our air which for the first time we are getting through DCL who said we won't have the information until 45 days before the cruise.:scared1: We are going this way this time because DH could not get the time off from work orignially so I guess we will just have to wait and see. Sue

Same here.
Except I don't know what I did different but it allowed us to put in the same arrival flight as we did for 4/27 cruise and then let me pick port arrival time? Which is weird- we'll be on the ship! LOL But I did it anyway and was able to print out signature forms for one room- the other room it won't ever let me log in at all.. no errors! It just everytime I fill out the info and submit- takes me right back to that page to enter the info again. Very odd. If I put in the wrong birthdate- it'll show error... put in the right date- takes me back to the same page again to fill out the info again! so I'm left with one not printed out yet.... they linked the cruise plans to other rooms if you wanted it that way/booked it that way.. hopefully they'll work this out and link the rooms on the check in process someday also.

I think I might be able to handle that. Ha!

Who's in for a FE?

Add us to the list Scott (Scott H) and Lynn (Lynn G) Stateroom 6636. Thanks.

PS I see that Scott already added us - but without a room number, so this is a duplicate listing.

Thanks! That's good to hear. My TA said they want more than 1.5 hours between excursions and wouldn't you know that the ones I want to do have exactly 1.5 hours between them. I think DCL is doing that on purpose, lol. I'll definitely check with the Port Adventures desk. Your post made me hopeful though!

We are a GTY for this Trip So far.. :goodvibes

Had 5020, next door to Linda, but gave it up for the $400.+ reduction in price. hey it is a shore excursion!

We can sleep anywhere! you all know what we mean.

Only 88 days until your cruise sets sail!

The list is really growing and I can't believe some people already have their FE gifts done and packed away already!! Who else wants to join in our fun?

Also - if you haven't already sent your cabin number and names please do so. You can PM me with them if you prefer.

Count us in for the FE list. Michelle and Brad - Cabin 6514. Also since this is our first cruise and therefore FE event, any guidelines on how the FE thing works would be helpful!
Thanks!

Were in cabin 7572

You may also want to look at the roster on page 1 of the thread. You will probably find most if not all of the cabins listed there.

That's genius advice! I will!

FE Instructions - we have decided to do 1 family gift per cabin
I've never actually organized one of these before so I am winging it :thumbsup2 How do I exactly get all the information to participants?

You are doing fine so far. The biggest challenge is to get the list created and posted from time to time with current room information. As we get closer to the cruise, you will see room changes and new room assignments. The list will have to updated. You may want to consider a cut off date for new people. That way, we will have a little advance knowledge of how many are participating.

At some point in the future, you can post the "final" list with room numbers. It is helpful to have that list sorted by deck.

Ken

So I can just post everything on here? I was picturing some sort of complicated email distribution but that is WAY easier! Thanks!

Can we agree that the cut off date for adding/removing should be 1 week before the cruise so - April 26?

For those of you that have more than 1 cabin - will both cabins be participating?

You might want to make it 2 weeks before. There are several cruisers who will be doing the repo out of LA prior to Alaska so they might not see any last minute changes.
