North To Alaska--May 3, 2011 on the Disney Wonder

I finally got to book some excursions but the one I was looking for wasn't in the list? It shows on my saved items but not when I get in. Does anybody know about the All Aboard Steam Train?

Gosh that was a frustration ordeal.

Just got in
Got the excursions I wanted, but I hate that they don't show the TIMES of the excursions until you're actually booking it. Why couldn't they show those things to us beforehand? Would help in planning. LOL

(like I thought Ketchikan flight/crabmeal would be during the day and crabmeal would be like lunch... I need to rethink this because it is scheduled for us to miss dinner on the cruise. sigh)

I wouldn't immediately assume all aboard train won't be available- it's really glitchy right now. Try again?

Finally got in. We just wanted the Ziplining in Ketchikan and was able to get it but cant do any online check-in. Now I have a migraine! Good night!

Well that royally sucked...

NONE of the excursions I wanted are available. Only 1 is fully booked, the rest don't appear to be offered on our cruise. Guess we will just take in the sights around town and head back to the ship.

Guess it saves us some $$.

^^ aw man. Which ones did you want?

Everytime I've logged in to do excursions at midnight 90 days out- I can't do check in until morning. I think it's not set up to let you right at midnight? It happened again on April 27th cruise. Try tomorrow. LOL

I looked at other things in Ketchikan- and so far everything I pick ends at like 5:45, 6 or 6:30 or so.. we have main dining! (and not in a suite this time, to order dinner in our rooms LOL)

I guess in Ketchikan the dining rooms will be like half empty- everyone out on excursions LOL

We really wanted the White Pass Scenic Railway Featuring Exclusive Youth Activity. We have two daughters 6 & 9 and they liked the idea of the special section just for them.

We had an outside hope for some of the kayaking tours, but we weren't sure if they would be available. Probably not going to get many takers this early in the season so they aren't offering it.

The other one we wanted was the enhanced Lumberjack show but I see it is booked up solid.

One that is the available is the Liarsville Gold Rush show and dinner, but realistically, we live(d) in the heart of the Cariboo Gold Rush so most of that stuff is available right here and at a much cheaper rate.

Will take a look again and see if there is something that stands out. If not no worries. More $$ for Bahama Mamas!

We do have a whale watching excursion booked for Juneau not with Disney however.

I'm thinking just 1 family gift per cabin. If you want to include gifts for kids then you can but aren't expected to. Sound good?

Not a first time cruiser, but first time participating in FE. Sounds like too much fun to pass up this time!!!

Please add us to the list. Me (Kristina), DS (Drew - 3), my mom (Kay) and dad (John). We are in 6112.

Disney is saving me tons of money by not letting me stack excursions...how far apart are these things supposed to be? Seems over an hour should be fine...

Aw, I'm sad about the first one! I wonder if you can maybe book that on your own? Probably not if it's made 'special' for the kids by DCL :(

The lumberjack one was showing just not available for me- the first time I got in. I mean it wasn't saying no reservations available like some of them are now- that I assume were filled up. It said something else that made me think it just wasn't available for this cruise :(
It kinda stinks that some aren't available because it's the first cruise/early in the season. sigh
So far the only things I can find in Ketchikan that we'd remotely want to pay for- end after our dining time. weird. They don't usually book all these late excursions that go past your dining time unless it's like an all day really long excursion- yanno? These are just a few hours- starting in mid afternoon and smack thru our dining time. :confused3

The great lumberjack show is showing available in ketchikan- in case you're interested?

Who did you book whale watching with?

I don't think the Enhanced Lumberjack Show has ever been available. It wasn't available for the Gold booking window and I remember a Platinum saying they were not able to book either.

omg they are so annoying with this!
We've been on cruises before where there was like hours and hours and hours between- but they simply will not let you book more than one excursion per day. ugh
I don't know if maybe you can attempt to book the other one (for the same day) once onboard...or not. I just know online it absolutely won't let you and it's goofy as all get out. IMO

ahh yes 2008 Panama Canal Cruise.

Who can forget the infamous "night of the fishies"

What a fun night that was!

argh
I just realized what I booked for skagway was only for 16 and up... IDK why. :confused3 But I clicked all guests and it let me sign up for only the 3 of us that will be over 16. I'm glad I noticed that now!
But then I noticed the flight/dog excursion I had saved- isn't even showing on there AT ALL... which is confusing. If it's not offered at all- why have it on the list for me to save it? so weird.
Oh well-- shoretrips for skagway it is. LOL

Yeah, they were definitely just teasing us with some of those excursions. Some said they were only available certain months, but others did not include any timeframes, yet they are not showing up.

to both of you- I know. And I haz a sad. The teasing is not nice! :(

But I booked on shoretrips an excursion that cost about the same- that included train ride, same type dogsled excursion, museum and stuff -and BBQ meal.... haha
I've used shoretrips at least for one excursion everytime we've cruised. I always save money with them.... just FYI
