I'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and was considering changing my room from a lodge to a courtyard. I'm confused as to which wing is the north and which wing is the south? If you are facing the lake, with the lobby behind you, which side is which or which? Anybody have an opinion as to which side is better?

South is to your right. Be careful of this wing, as there are 2 courtyard views... one is of the main courtyard, and the other is of the courtyard between the main building and the villas, overlooking the quiet pool. It is quieter, but for you money, the other view is much better!

eeyore0062, thanks for your reply. So the south wing is the side of the pool bar? I was thinking that closer up towards the lake would be a nice view. I'm confused on the two different courtyard
views. Is the quiet pool towards the lake? I'm not too familiar with the layout. It seems to me that the view from what you consider the north wing, the lake is blocked by trees. I'm more interested in a view of the lake but also the pool but not so sure what to request. Since you are familar with it maybe you could fill me in a little more. I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Ok, let me see if I can give you a good mental picture. The resort is shaped like a square U. The lobby, of course, is in the center, and branching out away from it toward the lake are more rooms on the north and south side. The north wing is closest to the marina and boat to the MK. I do believe the rooms on the very end of this wing are somewhat blocked by trees, so the lake view is not as good. The south wing is on the the side nearest to the pool bar. They have rooms that are on the end of that wing that face the lake, but not the pool and I don't believe that these are blocked by trees, so it is probably your best bet for getting an unobstructed lake view. I don't know how many rooms there are on that end, but if you want a lake view, they would be the best to request. On the north (left, if facing the lake from the lobby) side of the south wing, is the pool, guyser and spas, and on the south side (right) of the south wing is what used to be a woods view... however, since the villas were built, they have made that into a courtyard, as well--- nowhere near as spectacular, of course, but much quieter. From there you can see the quiet pool, and the villas, but not the lake, as the trees block that view from your balcony. I hope this helps you out a bit. I am sorry that I don't know exact room numbers for the room you would like to request.

Eeyore thanks so much for your info. I have a better understanding of it now. Maybe I should just request a room in around the lobby (at the bottom of the U) where I could get a view of the pool, lake and trees! You'e been a big help!
