Nook vs Nook color

I have a nook and I love it! I load it with free library books from my library all of the time. I want to get my sister a nook for her birthday, but can't decide between the nook and nook color. I am also thinking about her 1 year old. If she wants to put a book on it for him, would she be better off with the nook color? Is the size the same for both?

Please help me decide!

Is the size the same? They are about the same size but the nook color is considerably heavier. The nook color can also be hacked into a pretty decent low level android tablet, so you can put a Kindle App and Angry Birds and all kinds of games on there too.

It does display picture books much more nicely than the greyscale readers and they've been developing a "read to me" library with children's books at Barnes and Noble. It is actual audio book that ties to the text, not like the computer generated Text to Speech. Sometimes they have added music or sound effects too. The Read to Me books are kind of pricey but they're pretty cool.
