Nook/refurbished on Overstock $86

I ordered mine on the 26th and it arrived today! One question - how do I know they sent me the 3G one? The box doesn't say one way or the other. Does the 3G look different than the one that is just wi-fi?

The 3G has a gray back.

Mine arrived today! My niece also got hers today, plugged it in and nothing. She called B&N help line and they had her try a bunch of things, but it won't charge. So, she call Overstock & they said they were completely out. Thankfully, mine seems to be charging just fine.

mine came with almost a full charge, but i hooked it up and let it charge until the yellow light went off, like the instructions said. so sorry for your niece is overstock.com going to issue a refund?

Got mine today.....what is the latest version of software and do the new ones everyone has been receiving have the latest version?

Also...not so happily suprised....I bought this so I could read the last Harry Potter book on my upcoming trip. Went to download it only to find out NONE of the HP books are available for e-readers. I'm so bummed.

The software will autoupdate when you connect to wifi.

I've heard that people have bought the Harry Potter books on eBay. Not so legal version, I guess.

I also read that JK Rowling was finally relenting about eBooks and the HP books might come out soon in an eVersion.

The lastest version of software is 1.5. As PP mentioned it should automatically download. If it doesn't there are directions on the B&N website on how to sideload it onto your Nook and then it will update the software. You can check which version of software is on your Nook by going to the settings. You can also tell when you have a B&N book open. The cover will show in the color panel at the bottom and there will be an option for "shelves".

it doesnt automatically update on mine- tells me the webiste to go too...Also...HOW to i get the BOOKS from my computer to my NOOK ??????????? ( downloaded them free from the library onto my computer...)

click on the "news of the day" or whatever it is called. (I'm new to the Nook and don't know it all by heart yet.) Then click on "Look for new things" or something like that. It will load then.

To get the books from your computer to the Nook. Hook up your Nook to the computer. Then just drag and drop the book from your computer into the My Documents area of the Nook.
